if you have 180-202 spell hit,
if you have 17%+ crit,
if you have 900+ shadow dmg,

Then yeah.

With your gear as it stands, you'll get most DPS out of a 0/21/40 Shadow build. Plus, your damage will scale much better as your gear progresses - compared to say a UA build. Additionally - if you get assigned to a curse and can't do CoA - you're dps won't get knocked as hard.

To confirm this - download the spreadsheet from www.leulier.com - you'll find you get about 20dps more from 0/21/40.
I used these stats : 1104 dmg (+220 shadow), 121 hit, 110 crit.

Don't listen to these people quoting stuff like "180 hit, 17% crit, 900 damage" - they don't have a clue. The answer can be found by downloading that spreadsheet.

For the time being you should use these value guidelines as a rule of thumb ;

1 hit rating = 1.6 damage.
1 crit rating = 1.1 damage.
1 haste rating = 1.0 damage.

Sacrificing crit and hit for slightly harder hitting shadowbolts is beyond retarded,

1322 shadow dmg, 110 crit rating, 121 hit rating? Honestly put 8 spell hit gems into ever slot until 202 capped the put in spell crit/dmg gems.

Out of this guys 10 gems - 9 of them have hit rating .... I think he realises that he is short of hit and is attempting to deal with it. Considering socket bonuses he's sacrificed 16 spell hit for 25 spell damage (I'm referring to taking hit/dmg gems instead of straight hit). In dps terms - these work out pretty much identically - so I don't really consider it any sacrifice at all.
