Defense While LevelingFollow

Hello,
Long time reader and first time poster. I have read the stickies and found them to be very helpful. Though I have a quick question about defense as you level. My paladin is now level 60 and in a mix of the Champion and the Sorcerer gear. I was wondering how important defense is for tanking my way through the dungeons on my way to 70. Should I strive to be uncrittable at each level, or should I focus on stacking stamina and taking defense and spell damage as it comes?

Thanks for the quick reply. Guess I was worried for nothing.

Before lvl 70, simply being Prot-specced (Redoubt, Anticipation, Holy Shield, etc.) will give you the tools you need for tanking the normal Outland dungeons. As you get closer to 70 though, you may need to start carrying two sets of gear- one for DPSing while you solo and another set with stam and def for handling instances. Shadow Labyrinth, Steamvaults, and Shattered Halls are not particularly kind to tanks wearing Ret-style gear.

You don't need to worry about seeking out tank gear while you level; just take the quest rewards as they come, if they come..
