So I was considering leveling up a druid as my next character. I have started leveling it up, but I just can't get into it. I don't know what it is, but it hasn't felt that fun for me(granted I did just start). Do druids have a point at which they start to become more fun, or I would I be better off saving my time and rerolling now?

Druid doesn't really come into it's own till mid 30's, things do get more fun with cat form at 20. ..but ::shrugs:: if you don't like it, don't play it. ^^ Games are more fun when they are fun and not work. >..>;;

edit: It's not is!!
What's up with the carpet bombing in this thread?

Druids are notoriously hideous to level until you get bear form at lvl 10. They are basically a gimped mage. After 10 you get a couple of levels of fun because it's so cool that you can turn into a bear, but you quickly realize it takes an hr to kill something as a bear.

Then level 20 and cat form arrives. And it's all good. You can stealth anywhere and kill anything, fast. You can shift into bear to deal with a seemingly infinite number of adds and can pewpew like a mage for different flavor. It keeps getting better -- at 30 you can run away from anything via travel form, at 36 you get a stun opener, at 40 dire bear form makes you almost unkillable, at 50 mangle makes you a dps machine.... So stick with it. It goes from the worst class to the best.

Glad I read this because I thought I might be slightly retarded (no offense to the mentally challenged community [or their relatives]) It took me a while to get to 10 but in my experience, it takes a while to get into the system especially coming from a hunter where i get to sit back and not get hit. So thanks from another noob druid.

don't forget there's 2 viable ways to level a druid.. feral which is melee and balance which is a caster.. if you don't enjoy melee try balance if you try both of those and still don't like it I'm sorry a druids not for you :P

tuskerdu nailed it...once you get bear form it's cool just to be able to turn into a bear...but the fun will wear out in a few levels...then you get to cat mode and the thrill starts all over again. Transition from tanking to dps is quite a change as your cat form will get pwned in terms of damage taken but once you get use to it i doubt you'll go back to bear form...until i hit dire bear that is. The biggest issue with cat mode is that you really can never take more than 2 mobs at once...or you're dead so it's kind of hard and most likely you'll be in stealth mode for a good majority of the time. At level 58 you should try going moonkin..i was feral until i hit 60 and the outlands. I decided to repec to moonkin and havent looked back since..moonkin is just so different it really helped freshen up the game. Also it's really easy to regear from tank/dps to caster/healing in outlands because the awesome quest gear rewards.

The greatest thing about rolling a druid is being able to play different styles...from tank to dps to caster to healer. I suggest going from tank to dps because of similar stats and there's not much respecing required, then going from moonkin to healer. It'll give you a really dynamic time. Once you hit 70 choose your favorite and stick to it.
