Okay, I've been cruising through the Uncrushability guide (with one slight upgrade :) ) and last night tried a heroic BM. We did alright up to Aeonus, where he consistently would just obliterate me during a time stop. So I'm thinking that I'm still a bit low on armor. That should be partially rectified in a couple of days when I hit SSO exalted and get another 1.5k armor from the Sunward Crest. However, I'm trying to get the biggest bang for the buck in upgrades as quickly as possible. With that in mind, here's my Armory:

Now, I know that I've given up a bit of crushability between the belt in the guide and the Belt of the Guardian, but I think that's a pretty fair trade. :) That said, where am I going to get my biggest bang for the buck after the Sunward Crest? If I had one instance to run a night for a week, or equivalent time questing, what order would you go after?

As a side question, what's an ideal base amount of armor to be doing heroics? I know they can't crush, but damn can they hit you for a lot...

Not sure if this helps, but if you're just running heroics and not raid tanking you may want to focus more on Armor/Stamina rather than being uncrushable. As you said, heroic bosses don't crush, so if you find yourself too squishy, you my want to sacrifice some block or parry for some armor/HP. It's really a touchy subject for some, but I found this to help me out when I started heroics before raiding.

You know.. generally when I hear about people getting obliterated with damage in heroics it's usually more a lack of HP than armor. In this case, armor very well might help you... but I don't think it's the deal breaker. 12k should be enough to handle any heroics, though you can't really blitz through them until around 14k or so.

Upgrades to look for? I'd be looking into the Jade-Skull Breastplate in Mechanar, the Nexus Guard's Pauldrons from the Netherstorm quest or shoulders off of Laj in Botanica, and either Dabiri's Enigma (Netherstorm Quest) or the Adamantine Figurine from Shadow Labs. The Devil Shark Cape is nice and all, but it isn't as dramatic an upgrade as those are.

Anything over 52% should serve you well in heroics. By the time you hit 60% the rest of your stats will probably be a point where you blow all of your mana every fight and have to drink every pull, which isn't a bad thing.

Defense (passive miss%), Armor, and HP are pretty much the only things that help you during Time Stop. Be sure you go into it at full HP, be sure your healer is on the ball afterwards with big heals to bring you up. HoTs are great and all, but they won't cut it to refill you afterwards.

Ironically enough, most heroics are more difficult than the beginning (and some of the end, chess anyone?) of Karazhan. If your guild will let you, try offtanking the first few bosses and see if you can pick up some gear. I know that's how my guild's pally tank got decent enough gear for T5 content.
