In 29 pvp i have been alternating between ambush and cheap shot and i can't decide which is better
i am a backstab specced 29 rogue with daggers so which is better as an opener cheap shot or ambush?

This is why I hate twinks, they're all terrible at this game
You have a point mike, but the only reason twinks exist is for a bit of fun. This poster is just trying to maximize the fun they get out of their twink.
And to the OP: It is situational as to which opener you should use. I would use ambush at all times unless you know for a fact that you are up against a non twink. Daggers tend to take a big chunk out of people at 29 and you can have some ease tearing em down the rest of the way.

If you have daggers go with ambush and have that sublety talent for improved ambush because it can take out a good chunk of the guys health without even 2 seconds into the battle. If you use swords, maces, ect... use cheap shot because I don't think you can switch weapons in mid-combat.

Seconded and translated for ease of understanding to you if you don't understand Theo's language yet: don't post answers if you have no @#%^ing clue and write stuff which is so obvious (dagger = ambush prerequiste) and/or wrong (sure you can switch weapons in combat).

At levels 19 and 29 you want to use Ambush against clothies and non-twinks. Against warriors, or in any other level bracket, you use Cheap Shot.
I haven't got a twink myself but I know a rogue who pvp'd there for literally a year before leveling up to thirty and he used Ambush regardless of the situation or the opponent. Of course, he's also leveling sub daggers. So he might be an idiot. I'm not sure yet.

You don't always use a cheap shot.
If you open with a CS on a warrior without already having a garrote/rupture combo up on him and he's anywhere decent, I'd just laugh at you. He's just going to Second Wind all your damage.
But yes, at 70 the only viable openers are garrote and CS.
Or, say, you want to fight a Rogue you might use Sap -> premed -> garrote -> rupture & sprint -> restealth before sap breaks. It's very easy to do to Mutilate rogues, but perfectly possible with ShS too. Nilyo does it to a Warrior, too, but that's just showing off.
You might also use Garrote on a mage instead of CS->ShS->KS, depending on the situation.
