Anyways i need good gear to get in a raiding guild and such heres my armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ysera&n=Esgares

I dont have tailoring so thats out of the question, Should i be saveing up for S2 or doing certain instances, if so which ones? And which items should i try to get?

This post assumes you have the time to farm a lot of materials.

1. Farm honor and get the s2 dagger when it comes out, and the honor neck from s4. (The haste one). It's one of the best neck pieces in the game.

2. Farm mats for Spell Strike Gear (Pants and Hood). This takes priority over Frozen Shadoweave.

3. Farm mats for Frozen shadoweave boots and the robes. The shoulders are optional.

4. Farm mats for Belt of Blasting, the best belt in the game for dps before t6.

5. Run kara a few times to get pieces of gear you missed (offhand, wand, etc)

6. Run heroics to pick up badges for the 60 badge ring, and the 100 badge robes (best robes in the game for warlocks before sunwell)

7. Run heroic MGT and try to pick up fel tinged mantle (from the second boss) and the robes from kael (which will hold you over until you get the 100 badge ones) he also drops epic gloves that are pretty decent.

Ok i think i'll have to pick up tailoring but the only thing thats holding me back is, If i get to 375 make a couple nice things then replace them in like a week. Which i dont know if it'll happen but if it does it'd seem like a waste.

I neaver got a badge of justice in my life their from daily heroic 5-mans right?

375 tailoring is worth it. While it might not seem to great as you replace things through tier 6 content, the Sunfire robes require tailoring and are a huge dps boost over the anything else in the game.

Badges of justice drop off of any boss in a heroic dungeon, ~10% drop from sunwell bags you get from dailies, 2 from the heroic daily quest, and from all 70 raid bosses.

Rate up for this info. I am 372 Tailoring and am making/collecting mats for a shadowweave set atm. Seeing the rest of the gear I need to get written in a list like that is great. :) :)

Someone linked to this, and just had to make a slight correction.

The robes off Lady Vashj in The Eye. Better then anything before Sunwell, and I believe there are only 2 there better. Chances of seeing it, slim, as today, a lot of guilds seem to just skip Vashj. Still better then the Tormented Demonsoul Robes though.

It's in SSC.

And theorycrafting/Spredsheets say that Tormented Demonsoul robes are better. However, there are some times where Vestments might be a little better, but the overall dps differene in the robes are ~<10 when using epic gems.

According to what I consider one of the best theorycrafting equipment information out there:

DPS Point System (DP)
With the help of Leulier's spreadsheet, I have created a pretty accurate model of exactly how much DPS one point of a stat will compare to another point. I compare items using this system called DPS points (DP).

The model I used for DP was a 0/21/40 Destruction build only using Shadowbolt to deal damage. Since I know some will be curious, the way I did this was I found a point where one point of a stat gave me exactly one DPS increase, set that value to equal 100 DP, and then figured out the values that an increase for a point of other relevant DPS stats gave. In my case, I set the spreadsheet to about 1300 shadow damage, 23.5% crit, 15% hit, and 0% haste, and then one point of spell hit (.0793 of 1%) equaled 1 DPS. From there I reset the values and noted the DPS increase from one point of spell damage, haste, and crit. These numbers are pretty accurate for a late T5/early T6 raiding lock. As you get better gear too, the proportions don't change as much.

For all those that are Affliction, the values for points are pretty much the same as Destruction, except that spell damage is more important (almost equal to spell hit), and spell crit/haste/hit are a little less important. In the guide though, I only calculated the point values for 0/21/40 shadow Destruction, as it is the most common and widely accepted top DPS spec. This table is essential for knowing how to compare one stat to another, so get familiarized with it. Later I will slightly touch upon each stat including those not included in DPS points. Here is the DPS point value chart.

DPS Point Values:
Spell hit: 100
Spell damage: 64
Shadow damage: 64
Spell haste: 78
Spell crit: 72
Meta gem: 2900 (Chaotic Skyfire Diamond from Leulier's spreadsheet)

Note that unlike my previous point systems, I did not assign a value to stamina, intellect, spirit, etc, because they really have insignificant DPS value. As a warlock, you will have naturally high health and generally will never have to worry about your health count. Intellect does increase your crit chance by a small margin, but it is still insignificant and would have been tedious to include. Every other stat is useless for PvE DPS. The final thing to note is that I assigned a value of 2900 to a meta gem slot, which was derived from Leulier's spreadsheet. The meta gem that you should be using is the Chaotic Skyfire Diamond.

As a little disclaimer, remember that although pretty accurate, this is still just one quantitative way of ranking items and DPSing. 90% of the complaints disregard that. Values can and will change somewhat as your gear level increases/decreases. However, if I changed the basis of the values, the gear rankings would have no merit since I'm comparing the items in different terms.

Using that system, this list was devised, for chest peices:
Quote:

# Sunfire Robe (Crafted Sunwell recipe) DP: 13024
# Fel Conquerer Raiments (M'uru - Sunwell Plateau) DP: 11398
# Robes of Ghostly Hatred (M'uru - Sunwell Plateau) DP: 11082
# Vestments of the Sea-Witch (Lady Vashj - Serpentshrine Cavern) DP: 10980
# Robes of Rhonin (Archimonde - Hyjal Summit) DP: 9612
# Robe of the Malefic TIER 6 (Illidan Stormrage - Black Temple) DP: 9232
# Robe of the Corruptor TIER 5 (Kael'thas Sunstrider - The Eye) DP: 8540
# Tormented Demonsoul Robes (100 Badge of Justice) DP: 8496
# Scarlet Sin'dorei Robes (Kael'thas - Heroic Magister's Terrace) DP: 8256
# Brutal Gladiator's Felweave Raiment (Season 4 Arena) DP: 8152

Putting the Vashj robes #4 over the Badge one at #8

I realize I'm nit picking, and it is really not that big of a deal. I'm just bored.

FSW boots are equivalent to T4-T5 quality boots, you may or may not replace them with Boots of Blasting (epic BoP pattern). Yes, tailoring is worth it. The Spellstrike and FSW sets also go in different slots, so you can get them all made at the same time (more or less). SS: Head/Pants. FSW: Boots/Robe/Shoulders. The upside to the SS set is you don't have to be a tailor to wear it, just in order to get the set bonus. FSW, you need to be a tailor.

Also, I'm going to list Kara gear in here, because it's not hard to obtain. This is all stuff you can get PRIOR to raiding even Mag's/Gruul's, much less SSC/TK/BT/MH/SWP.

Belt: Belt of Blasting, Sash of Serpentra
Hands: Gloves of Oblivion, Handwraps of Arcane Acuity, Handwraps of Flowing Thought
Pants: Leggings of Oblivion, Spellstrike Pants
Boots: FSW... not sure of any instance drop boots.
Helm: Spellstrike Hood, Demonfang Ritual Helm
Neck: There's some with spell hit out there, I just forget what they are. >.< I know one drops off of Moroes.
Shoulders: S1 shoulders are fine for now, otherwise go for FSW.
Back: Sethekk Oracle Cloak, Delrissa's cape (Magister's Terrace), or Prince's (Kara)
Robe: Vermillion Robes of the Dominant, or FSW. There's also one from Botanica, if I remember correctly.
Wrists: PvP bracers, period.
MH: S2 dagger or staff, Scryer's Blade of Focus, Continuum Blade (KoT revered), Greatsword of Horrid Dreams
OH: If a 1hander, then spell hit offhand from Black Morass, or Orb of the Soul Eater.
Wand: Black Stalk, or Shade of Aran's wand.
Rings: Fused Nethergon Band, Ashyen's Gift. Badges and Cen. Exp. exalted, respectively.
Trinkets: Scryer's Bloodgem, Quagmirran's Eye, Darkmoon Card: Crusade, Icon of the Silver Crescent
