Profession OptionsFollow

My rogue is 51 and ive decided to pick up some professions, ive read on these forums that for rogues the optimal choices are Leathorworking, Mining, Skinning, Engineering, Jewelcrafting, and Enchanting.

Now I was just curious as to what I should do, get 2 gathering professions to 300 for Outlands or just pick up 2 crafting professions and then Power-level them once I hit 70.

And if I were to just wait till 70 which 2 professions should I choose?

Professions should match your end-game goals. Just to make it easier on yourself.

For a PvP focus I'd suggest Mining/Herbalism (herbs sell well on my server, you could do skinning in stead).

For PvE focus Mining/Skinning.

At 70 you can gather mats to power-level before switching to Engineering/Jewelcrafting (for PvP) or Engineering/Leatherworking (for PvE). Goggles/Panther and Goggles/Leather Set, respectively.

Either way, the goggles pretty much kick complete a**. So you can't lose with those.

Good point. I was only thinking of the "just turned 70" point of view where the leather BOPs are pretty solid upgrades at the time (compared to the Assassination set). The drums always seem to me to be more a raid thing (i.e. "later") for some reason but are definitely A+.
