Endgame Warrior wants to know if he should respec ?Follow

As a level 70 Arms Warrior 40/21/0 , I am thinking about respec to a Prot warrior. I have mostly been playing solo, and I am looking to start tanking in Instances and such. Over the course of play, I have just used gear that was available to me, not really upgrading right away (saving my gold). If I respec to Prot, will I still be able to complete the daily quests and farm solo? That's my main concern. That way I can do my own thing, and tank occasionally when groups are looking for one.

Thanks in advance.

It should answer your questions.

Personally I really enjoy prot. Get 2 sets of gear, one for tanking and one for dps/soloing. They are slower at soloing but they're not that bad once you get a good dps set and a good kill sequence down.

If you would like to tank then you should go prot but keep your current gear and use that when you are doing dallies and soloing and such. It's a lot easier to solo in your current gear then it would be for you to do it in your tank gear.

if you want to effectively tank normal instanced, low-end heroics and possible kara then you can go with a 41-5-15 build which works pretty nicely as a hybrid for both dps and tanking with just a change of gear.
if you want to be serius about tanking going 11-5-45 or something like that would ofcause be more efficient, and you will be able to solo as well, it just takes a bit more time.

i saw that you already respec'd to prot, but you made a couple mistakes in your 11/5/45 build.

-move one point out of imp HS and into anger management
-take both points out of improved taunt and one out of improved bloodrage so you can go 3/3 improved sunder

anger management and improved sunder will make huge differences in how much rage you have throughout the fight, and you really don't want to skip them. it's worth the gold to fix your spec.

improved taunt is not something you should need. if you do, either you're doing something wrong, or your dps is.
