Hey all, I just got this last night in Kara, and right now, I need help.

My unbuffed (not even intellect/Molten Armor) Crit Chance is at 15.5%, and what I need to do is come up with a happy medium to sustain frost damage while improving my crit rate. I currently spec 40/0/21, and no mage in my Kara group has Winter's Chill.

Please help. I want this trinket to OWN.

the trinket won't really own unless you are using spells that have a higher chance to crit, you would probably be better off with x'iri's gift + icon if you only have 15% chance to crit.

TLC is mostly used for woopie factor. It's not as useful as it once was. It's more toy now than a viable trinket.

Wasn't it the shizz when MSD didn't have a cooldown, making Arcane Missile spam our best raid spec?

Yes, many mages were upset when they changed that. It was a sad day. I wanted it back then.

Its better DPS then a handful of blue trinkets. After I was hit capped it was better then Xiri's Gift and Scryers Bloodgem. Looking at some of my recount reports it was doing up to 3.8% of my DPS on long boss fights. Pretty good trinket, I would have rather had Quag's Eye, but don't get me started on my bad luck with drop rate there :P

I replaced it finally with Darkmoon Card: Crusade

It was fun to play around with, but the truth of the matter is that no spec should really be reliant on a couple of gimmicks related to a trinket and a meta gem to be functional. And that spec was pretty weak without said gimmicks.

ever since they tacked a small internal cooldown on the trinket... its not what it used to be. The cooldown more than ensured that you only get one proc off it per spell that takes 2.0s to cast at least. its good but not must have...

Agreed. I get better results from the Icon and Quag's Eye/Serpent-Coil Braid than that. Actually, we started giving it to Shamans.

TLC is really awesome...for ele shammies. Decent for fire mages, raid buffed fire spells are well over 30% crit.

...Elemental Mastery + Chain Lightning = Automatic TLC Proc?

That's awesome.

Shamans also rely on crits from their spells for their clearcasting which slightly improves their mana longevity.
a fren of mine who played a elemental shaman during my kara days relied heavily on criting to top meters.

^This. A good elemental shaman will be running 40% crit self-buffed in T6. Pre-haste gems, 50% with a doomkin wasn't too hard.
