I was looking at this somewhere for a rough idea of what an Elemental Shamans crit chance should be for starting Kara. Now, I can't find it anywhere. Grrrr. Anyway if I remember correctly I thought it was 20% or so. If that's the case I'm suffering at 12% and not finding alot of options for getting it higher unless I PvP *holds knife to wrist* and that isn't happening. I'll do runs until I can't see straight but PvP? I'd rather play Runescape. So if anyone knows a good link for Pre-kara Shammy gear or has some "Sage" advice that would be wonderful.

I know it sounds like you don't like to grind pvp items but those provide lots of crit and spell dmg with nice stats also. The rep items are easy to get but require some time generally, if you go scryers and get your shatar rep up to revered with both then you can get some badass trinket combo right there. Lower City gets you a decent starter mace, and Shattered Sun Offensive can get you a half decent shield (but you may just want to go for badge shield). once your scryers and kara exhaulted you get some decent epic rings but you will have to settle on blue kara ring until then.
I didn't list all the badge items because you can go to a badge vendor and its all right there for you to look at, although I would say skip the lower end badge items and go straight for boots, gloves, pants, chest, and weapon as soon as you can.
I know you don't like to pvp grind at all (it is a pain) but the season one set is pretty decent for a starter ele shaman and provides spell push back resistance as a set bonus which is really helpful for some boss fights in raids.

if you can pull off 15% spell crit and 600 spell dmg I am sure you can do fine in kara, with talents that puts you at 25% crit you may just want to bring some mana pots for longer fights.
don't expect to top charts if your going with a guild with kara on farm though.

Yeah PvP is just out of the question. I can't can't stand the humiliation of watching Alliance do BG. I love Alliance for every other reason I just can't do BG with them anymore. Ok enough of that.
I was noticing a lot large portion of elemental Shaman gear had spell haste rating and not much spell crit. It was certianly gear for DPS casters, not healers or Enhanc. Some of the Rep. PVP gear has Crit rating but the reduction in INT was too much to sacrifice. As far as badge gear, I'm drooling for that stuff. Only about 400 badges to go, Wooot!
I was actually able to be an effective part of a Heroic run and was told how much better it went just having me there. I also got some nice purples. My gear is getting better.

I feel your pain lol, but still manage to get some done at the very minimum to replace some greens I had.

and I've done pretty good, but not great, in Kara. Can even get first in dps sometimes.
I know some one is gonna rate it, and tell me that i need to change stuff :)
I am aware and trying to get some, but I'm amongst those with the worst luck for drops from bosses lol
Haste gear is nice but you want a crit set first before anything else.
there are plenty of gear from badge vendors with crit instead of haste too, don't be afraid to downgrade armor either, I will admit to preffering mail but sometimes cloth is pretty dang good either way (or even leather).
