My enhancement shaman hit 28 today. I'm considering doing some pvp with him, but he's not twinked or anything like that. I have some general questions about PvP at this level.

1) Should I even try, or will I get steamrolled by twinks at this level?

2) Is enhancement viable pvp at this level?

3) Is there any gear that is purchasable that is particularly useful for an enhancement shaman at this level?

4) Is there any low level pvp gear that is worth saving the marks for?

I think that you should maybe try to do PVP.
Just keep in mind that there are many many twinks with thousands of gold invested on them, so do not get frustrated with your shammy.

Generally, 29 twinks are not as common as 19 twinks, so you don't have to be nearly so well geared to compete.

How useful Enhancement spec can be kind of depends on the makeup of your group--if you end up having to heal most of the time, well, it's not going to be too helpful, is it?

Just go in there, have fun, and try it out. :) Even if you decide there's no gear you want, you can start saving marks for a pvp mount.

Cool thanks for the replies. I probably won't be spending marks for my PvP mount, as I have a 70 to make me plenty of money to buy regular mounts. I'll probably just save the marks for gear or to have a bunch to turn in for honor when I hit 70. I'm going to try some pvp out tonight, so wish me luck!

Keep in mind if you plan to PvP, your gear will be quickly replaced once WotLK comes out. The level 71~80 quest drops will probably be better than PvP/raid epics, much like when TBC came out.

Might I recommend you PvP at level 49 if you plan to twink, which is the strongest bracket for an enhancement shaman. The gear is quite good, and there are a number of great 2h axes and maces at around that level. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better weapon than a Kang the Decapitator at level 49, that is what I was using at the time anyway.

From what I have read from Blizzard it will not be as big of a leap between 71-80 as it was from 61-70 where you pick up a ton of stamina, they have said the itemization will just be 'more of it' types of things. I plan on hitting 80 with my T6 still equipped.

I had a good time PvPing with my enhancer at 29 but keep in mind it gets far better with windfury after 30 and stormstrike after 40, hence 39 and 49 being the two best brackets. Do it, go pwn face, but every time a rogue or hunter downs you without you touching him, just remember things will be different eventually. (And then, once you go to OL, revert back to where you were at 29.)

I thoroughly enjoyed PvP at 29, and i spent a lot of time there because i was waiting for my lvling partners to catch up with me. I didnt spend and marks for the pvp gear because i knew it would get replaced soon seeing as how i was lvling really fast once my lvl partners caught up. There were a few twinks, but it was not that bad, plus it was awesome when i was able to take them out occasionally one on one. At 29 I used a sheild instead of a 2H to increase my survivability a little since you cannot DW yet. I really cannot remember what equipment i had at that lvl either so sorry about that.

I have had fun in the 29 bracket with an enh shammy (Joceil of <Still Twisted> on Twisting Nether). She's not a full blown twink, but is VERY effective as a WSG FR. Not quite as much fun in AB, but she still holds her own in a fight there, too.

Anyone have a sample build they think would be good for the 29 BG's? My brother is making a Shaman twink. Should he focus on strength and stamina? Agility and stamins?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
