I've read the Pre-Kara Holy Pally sticky a billion times and owe a lot to it. It has helped me get thru Kara and now onto ZA. I've finally saved enough Badges for Helmet of the Steadfast Champion.
The problem I have is whether the Insightful Earthstorm Diamond is better then the Bracing as the guide says. I guess I'm not fully convinced. FYI I've never had problems with mana regen as I sit at 100 mp5 while casting unbuffed, but I am thinking of giving up a bit for crit which sits at 14.01%/19.01 Holy.
Can anyone convince me on which gem is best?

The threat portion is pretty meaningless, paladin spells are already at 25% threat generation just by the default mechanic. 26 healing is... 1? HP when all is said and done? If that?
Insightful gives you base mana, crit, and the occasional chunk of mana. I still maintain it is the best, but it is my opinion.

Yeah the maths shows that insightful is worth about 15 mp5, given that on normal gems 11 healing = 2 mp5 that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
