Arena question in regards to gearFollow

I just joined a 3v3 arena team to play with friends. I'm currently a holy priest with ALL healing gear. My partners are a BM hunter and combat rogue. My question is, after i respec to disc, should I buy the honor PvP gear until I can replace my healing gear with better stuff, or just go with what I got?

We aren't looking for uber numbers just to have some fun.

I have almost no honor on this character as she was my raider. So basically I'd be starting from scratch no matter how I go about it.

My advice is to spend your honor by buying the Vindicator's Band of Salvation (with the +heal enchant if you are an enchanter), followed by the Vindicator Mooncloth Slippers with Boar's Speed on them, followed by Vindicator's Mooncloth Cuffs with Major Healing Power and a Steady Talasite. That's about 45k honor right there. Round that out with any blue reputation PVP items you qualify for.

In under two weeks, Arena Season 4 will start. At that point, Season 2 gear will be purchasable with honor points and Season 4 gear will be available. You'll probably want to save honor and arena points until then rather than blow it on inferior gear, but the three items I mentioned above won't need to be replaced anytime soon. You won't replace the ring for PVP at all, you'll just supplement it with a Guardian's Band of Salvation. You won't be able to replace the bracers until you reach a personal arena rating of 1575, or the boots until you hit 1700...and sorry amigo, but until you're in full PVP gear, you won't be hitting 1700 in that comp.

Also, buy a Medallion of the Horde. The epic, if you enjoy playing tons of battlegrounds and can count on earning honor fast, otherwise the perfectly reasonable blue version.

Thanks for the quick response. And if I actually hit 1700 I'd fall off my chair. My partners are much better PvP ers than I am. All my mains are squishies or not very Arena viable.

Still, it'll be fun.

It depends on how good your gear is currently.

Remember, you can buy all the original level 70 PVP gear with gold from reputation vendors. Unless you're running around in T6 stuff, I would go this route for the sake of having resilience and more stamina.

Odds are the dps is going to come for you first every time. So resilience and stamina gear is critical.

Respec'd to disipline and picked up all the reputation PvP gear to start with. Boy what a difference in play style. Tried out my new spec in WSG. Basically all I did was spam the mass dispell button, along with the mana burn. I managed to survive, not sure how.

I have discovered tho, that I lost a lot of spell power and doing dailies has become something of a pain. I think I'll wait to upgrade my gear to at least S2 before I enchant it all.

Thanks for the tips. Happy Healing.
