Finishing Moves - A questionFollow

First, I am farily new to the rogue class, my mains being caster/ranged.

I have two rogues, a lvl 34 and a lvl 14.

I have 4 finishing moves to choose from on my 34, Eviscerate, Slice n dice, Expose Armor, and Rupture.

My question is - first are these truly finishing moves where you wait till the end or 5 CP to use them?

If not, when would you first use one, which one, and why? I don't PvP so only really looking for PvE related answers.

Note: I did read the stickies and went 10 pages back looking for this info already. I got from the general read that SnD is used quite a bit, but what about the others?

Thanks in advance.

You can use any finishing move as long as you have at least 1 combo point on the target.

For questing at that level you'll be usually be using 2 point Slice and Dice (remember to open from stealth), then however-many point Eviscerates to kill the mob (usually 3-5).

If you are instancing:
Common cycles are 2s/3-5e for trash and 2s/5r for bosses.
(s = Slice and Dice, e = Eviscerate, r = Rupture)

SnD increases your haste rating and dramatically increases DPS. This is why it's the most common "step 2" right after opening from stealth.

Expose armor is almost completely unused in PvE.

Hope that helps.

Ugh, I hope I can bypass all instancing on this character, I've done them all so many times ad nauseum. Yes this helps.

Thanks

Always, always, always, keep SnD (Slice 'n Dice) up. Always.

Rupture is more for bosses and long fights. Other than that use Eviscerate.

Like was mentioned you can use these moves any time you have any combo points, from 1-5. The more points the more damage or longer lasting a move will be. Don't worry so much about maxing combo points but rather using them in an efficient way. Also if a mob is about to do there's no reason not to use up the combo points. They don't transfer between mobs.
