Do quests, kill mobs, level to 34, rinse and repeat to 70.

The "dreaded" stranglethorn vale should take you from early 30s through to 40s.

Go Places > Level Chart

Arathi Highlands, Desolace, Stranglethorn Vale, Dustwallow Marsh.

The stranglethorn quests are nice to gain a lvl or two. Be certain you've cleaned up all the Darkshire quests as some will still net decent exp for very little trouble - I might say the same to a lesser extent about wetlands (way green and lots of running, but it works). Be sure to complete the missing diplomat quest line . . . it's a lot of running, but it's pretty nice exp toward the end of the line and it will get you to dustwallow. Dustwallow is quest rich, southshore is quest rich, badlands only has a couple quests but would provide a grind spot if that's what you enjoy (with a nice little trinket: Nifty stopwatch obtainable @ about 38 - the cash isn't bad either). Also, quest out SM as best as you can. It's close to southshore which is convenient.

I think the best way is to have a plan, grab the nearest person and go have fun. When you have two people, a TON more is possible, hillarious, and sometimes more challenging than solo, and the exp ticks by super quick.

I use a really good guide that helps you level fast and skips all the quests that aren't worth it and it's free, here is a link. they have them from level 21-31 , 31-41 and so on and so forth check it out I know it helps me a lot it's called James horde leveling guide he has also made a leveling guide for alliance as well.

While the level guides at WoWPro are excellent.. and Jame's free guide can be amazing for your 2nd or 3rd char to speed you up....

I'd stick to the earlier advice about using a zone-level chart like the one linked to for your FIRST char. Level guides put you in the habit of not reading quest text, and rushing through things, while not actually experiencing the levelling game. Yes, endgame is like a whole other game, yes be anxious to get there -- but experience the other 37 levels you have left to their fullest first.

Paladin = AoEing, equip yourself properly 30 - 33 Yetis in Hillsbrad, 33 - 35 Yetis in Alterac Mtns, 35 - 38 Murlocs in DW Marsh. Google Paladin AoEing guide, there is alot of good stuff out there. It is always nice to quest but when you add in you runtime, it is more efficent to AoE.

Above is not true due to recent changes in quest experience gains. It used to be true, but it just isn't anymore. And I dunno about you, but the novelty kinda wears off after a while.

im not very good at AoEing cause im too poor to buy gear on the AH and to lazy to farm for good gear

Rested exp + AoEing grinding > questing + runtime
#13 Jun 14 2008 at 12:18 PM Rating: Good
You can't factor in rested exp, I can get rested exp either way, and questing delays the amount of time it takes for me to reach the end of that rested exp.

I'm leveling a second Paladin, and believe me, the experience I gain turning in quests far outweighs what I could get with the monotony of AOE grinding. I use an add on called QuestHelper which calculates the optimum path for completing all quests in the shortest amount of time, and it is simply amazing. It'll exclude instance quests when you're not in a group and quests that are too high for you to complete solo (unless you have a higher level with you), and it adds a blinking arrow to your mini map showing you which way to go for the next quest objective. You can also view your world map to see the entire path.

I don't go questing, except dailies, without this add on enabled anymore.

omg. no one recommended instancing!

im assuming its your 1st toon. you should be getting a grasp on how to play your class while leveling. being a pally, you will be very group dependant. learning how to play with a group is cruicial to your success. you will learn the different ways to play and also pick up some tips from other players, as well as hopefully add some people to your 'friends list' for time you need a friend. getting a good group takes some patients, but the learning experience is invaluable. there is nothing worse than having to teach a lvl 70 player how to play his class when he had all those levels to learn for himself. what's misdirect?

enjoy the game at every level. grinding is for alts.

The thing with instancing is:

1) there are many quests that lead you to instances, so it's kindof a given, and
2) instances are not always easy to get a group for. Quests and grinding you can ALWAYS do, but instances require you to get a group. Granted this will differ depending on the time of day you play (more people on, easier to get group), but it's never a guarantee.

You can't just say that instancing is the best way to go or someone may take it to heart and be sitting in LFG channel for 3 hours, doing nothing, while they look for a Deadmines group :P But yes, it is a very very good way to level, when you can get the groups to go, and I do NOT recommend making your first instance experience in Outland >.>

There are a couple good plate drops from Razorfen Downs: a chestpiece and a helm. Next you can get a nice shoulder from Zul'farrak.

Someone mentioned QuestHelper earlier, but I actually prefer Carbonite Quest.

It is basically the same thing as QuestHelper, meaning it shows you where to go to do all your quests, making cimpleteling them MUCH faster, but unlike QuestHelper, it does not give automatic waypoints. I found the constant waypoints popping up when I didn't want them to be very annoying while using QuestHelper.

But it's really just a preference thing :P

For playing WoW for 2 months and only having a level 33 character you should just keep at it and experiencing the WoW universe. Blizzard made the leveling grind from 1-40 a lot easier, but Carbonite Quest is the way to go if you want to level fast, find the quest items, and quest location of whatever your trying to obtain/kill.
