I just read the blue tracking thing on Alla's home page (great addition btw), there was a post about Avenging Wrath. This poster brought up a very valid point about it having no benefit to Healadins. The blue response was changes to AW were not planned at this time but it was under consideration.

What do the Healadins on this forum think? I never use AW when healing. The only time I consider using it is during dailies or normal questing for the much needed dps boost. I would love to see some changes made to give it some benefit to Healing though. One idea from the thread was to have it reduce casting time. This would be good for those boss fights were I am spamming FoL non-stop. Or maybe some +heal feature?

I guess this raises another issue too. If AW was retooled to include some form of healadin benefit would it be worth using frequently in instance runs? I really like having my self-bubble available for the times when things go haywire. Depending on the tank I sometimes have to use it numerous times in 5-mans. Having Forbearance up always makes me nervous since it blocks my "escape route". I would probably never use AW as a healer except for on boss fights just for this reason.

My response is.... does it need to be? I don't believe every spell needs to be of help to every spec. Personally, I would rather keep my bubble ready in case things go south instead of spamming AW. Leave it for the prots and rets imo.

As a Paladin healer I am pretty happy with our current situation. In terms of PvE we perform well at all levels and have a spot in any raid healing team and do it well. In terms of PvP we might not be the first choice in smaller brackets but do well in 5's and with skill can do well in the lower brackets as well. Certain encounters, notably MGT break our balls but it can be done.

While any buff is a good buff changing AW to affect healing is not the first thing I would ask for. It can be removed in PvP and takes bubble off the rotation for 1 min. In terms of PvE 20 seconds of 30% healing is going to cause an imabalance in healing, though I am sure they could just change modifiers for healing much like they did with spell damage to +healing gear.

Honestly if it ain't broke don't fix it.

AW is useless for healadins, just as Holy Light is useless for tankadins >:D

I agree with Jack, not every spell has to be useful to every spec all the time. Leave it the way it is, cause I'm sure if they changed it to include a benefit to Holy Paladins, they'd also decide it needed a nerf to its current effect. It's Blizzard, you know they'd do it =P

I'll use AW from time to time when soloing. When I'm healing I will occasionally use it in situations where the boss is getting low and there's really no danger to the group of wiping. Or, when the entire raid is already down and I make a hopeless, last ditch attempt at taking down the offending mob. Or, when Blackheart the Inciter MC's me and I run around hitting my party, lol.

I agree with Jack here -- why does it have to have a healing component? However, if they want to give it a healing component then it should be done through the talent tree.

No use for holy paladins? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?????

It's what you use when you get the guild's first boss kill in the picture!

Much agreed, AW makes you look very sexy in your guild first kill picture and it just makes you unique and what not, but for it being any use to a pally healer it is something to consider. With a good party setup in 5 man dungeons and what not your pally would never have to bubble and if your tank is good enough they will peel off the aggro from you if there is good communication with the group so the idea of having AW reduce cast time of spells or give + healing during the time AW is on would be pretty cool actually, but paladins are good enough as they are right now, maybe in Arenas it would help a lot more.

It would have to be an insane buff to see any use in arenas. I, for one, would love to see a holy paladin with wings in an arena match... every dps on the opposing team would instantly retarget and burn the pally down with no worry about a bubble.

If it was just spell haste it would make ret pallies angry, in terms of pvp you could purge, massdispell or even spellsteal it and you now have a pally with no "oh ****" button for the next 60 seconds. In terms of PvE I wouldnt complain about having 20% haste for x number of seconds but I dont really need it.
