Where shall i start?Follow

#1 Jun 12 2008 at 1:36 AM Rating: Decent
My situation:

I have a lvl 70 druid, but havent played her i awhile. As i levelled to 70 i skipped alot of instances and changed spec between feral and balance. At 70 i was also planning to spec resto. Because of this my gear isnt what it should really be at 70, alot of instance drops i miss and some of the good quest rewards are a mixture between moonkin and resto.

So now i want to start playing her again, as feral. Obviously i cant tank heroics and i doubt i will do that good in normall vl 70 instances either. I dont fancy doing loads of PVP for gear, so where would you recommend i should start?

With motw i got 13153 armor, 11617 health, 367 defense and 21% dodge. Horrible i know :)

My armory is http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Lightning%27s+Blade&n=Menara

Any help is appreciated, i just want to start playing her again :)

While I'm not much help as my knowledge is mainly on Balance and healing, don't be afraid of going back to some lower level dungeons, such as Durnhold, if there's improvments for you there. Better to do lower level stuff, then fail doing higher level.

Welcome back to Dr00ds Manara!

As far as gear goes you should be able to pick up a bunch of the Blue Pvp Feral set from Rep vendors. You need honored with Cenarion Expedition, Honor Hold/Thrallmar, Keepers of Time, Sha'tar, and Lower City for the whole set but even the pieces you can get now will help.

Dragonhide Set

If you are or you know a LW, the Heavy Clefthoof set isn't too hard to gather mats for and is great for ferals.

Strength of the Clefthoof

Good luck and happy Hunting!

Thanks for replys:)

Ill definatly try and get the clefthoof set, and should have rep for the dragonhide, although the +healing looks abit strange:)
Just did Durnholde, hoping for the ring from first boss, but alas... it didnt drop.

It feels abit strange doing low instances, but i guess its my own fault:) Its fun tanking again anyway, and i need the practise.

From the stats you posted I'm guessing you're going back to feral, here are some easy things to get.

1) PVP S1 shoulders and helm are the 2 best tanking pieces up to T4, and the resilience will help you get crit immunity

2) SMV quest line involving the cipher of damnation will get you Manimal Cinch and Umberhowl Bracer

3) Chest/Legs/Feet..only way to go here is to get the clefthoof set, if you're not a LW, you can have someone make them for you. 1 option for the feet if you're a LW is the Boots of Natural Grace

4) Belt-if money isn't an option, have someone craft Boots of Natural Power

5) Rings- Durnhold and Ramps offer nice rings...pretty easy to farm for

6) Back- Bogstrock in Slave Pens and the Cache in Mech offer the 2 best pre-Kara/Badge tanking back pieces

7) Trinkets- Badge of Tenacity and Darkmoon Card: Vengeance can both be farmed/bought off AH

8) Work on rep for enchants, as well as items such as Earthwarden

Ooo thanks for nice list :)

About legs, i have Midngiht legguards from some coilfang heroics (was not tanking:)), should i keep those or are either the dragonhide or the clefthoof a better option? Im thinking i might just dont want to change them since they are purple pixels^^

Clefthoof are better for tanking. Midnight legguards will do nicely for your dps set for awhile though.

If you need a stand in until you get the pvp helm, have a LW craft a Stylin' Purple hat.

Gloves-wastewalker gloves off the final boss in Shattered Halls

Heroics vary greatly as to how geared you should be to tank them (also dependent upon your group), however general baselines to start Kara (and tank most heroics with at least decent groups) 14K HP 24K armor Crit immune. 30%+ dodge

The Stylin' Leather Hat, in addition to being a really nice tanking hat also happens to be the best looking hat in-game, especially on a tauren. I miss my pimp hat!

It's Stylin Purple Hat (not leather), it's pretty sweet.

Also run the cipher of damnation quest line from SMV and you can pick up Umberhowl's Collar (wrist) and Manimal's Cinch which are 2 great tanking pieces. I see you have a piece of heroic gear, so if you have the badges get Idol of Terror and Band of the Swift Paw (wrist) with your first 2 purchases, they are pretty much the best tanking pieces at those 2 slots.

/sigh.

I'll blame lack of sleep for that error - the fact it is purple is one of the best things about it :)

The Clefthoof Hide Leggings are a slight upgrade, Midnight Legguards are more for rogues. Other than that, listen to everyone else.

Oh, and remember. Purple isn't always better.
