I'm currently leveling a paladin, which will be a healer, and I was wondering; were paladins the most desired class for Strat/Scholo? They seem to have a lot of nice damage spells for undead, and Strat has a TON of group undead pulls. I came into WoW about 2 weeks before BC so i never did any of the "Dead" raids. Any paladins here that have done those back when they were actual raids? I missed the 40 man raids too, which really looked fun.

Paladin tanking wasnt as strong back then as it is now, in fact in some ways it was non existant. I think the most wanted class was AOE to take down the skellies taht would spawn and heal Baron, or even a priest with Shackle. End of the day Exorcism wasnt a big deciding factor, not to say that people didnt bring them along since it is always nice to have a pally.

As for 40 mans, if you get to 70 you never know. Every other weekend on my server you can find a guild doing BWL, Naxx or even AQ. Some of it is challenging even at lvl 70.

I tanked both at those levels a few times. It wsan't the easiest thing in the world, but I'd get the job done. Weren't really sought after for our tanking ability back then though. It was like "Well I don't want to sit around waiting for a warrior, might as well just use this Paladin."

In all the PuGs I did before TBC, I ran with one paladin MT, one as an OT for UBRS, one druid MT and 4 druid OTs. The rest of all my tanks were warriors.
