what is a hunter's pet chance to hit on a level 73(boss) mob?
Are abilities that do physical damage, such as screech, gore, claw and bite calculated the same way?
And how about a spell, are we talking the same number or another mechanic involved?

Not going for certain bosses with certain resistances doing certain abilities. In a perfect world our pets always attack behind the target, so dodge will be implimented, and I am guessing parry and block will not. For easy sake lets just say the boss has the normal resistances to all schools of magic, nothing fancy.

I am just curious, being a BM hunter with animal handler, to know if the 4% applies to all damage types and spells for an increase of 4%, and being a draenei giving my pet 1% more maxes him out or not :)

I generally see my pet miss around 15% as SV.

Well, I have a WWS of a 9 minute fight against Morogrim Tidewalker. It's a pretty ideal fight for pets, because they can attack from behind for pretty much 100% of the fight without needing to be pulled out to heal.

I'm BM with Animal Handler. My pet is a Ravager with Gore 9 and Bite 9. I doubt that I had a Draenei for the +1% hit, because I'm almost always put in a group with the casters (and shadow priest ^_^)

A pets' special skills seem to have a higher chance of missing, and they have a difference chances of missing. But It looks like no matter what, the pet will miss, even with Animal Handler and Heroic Presence. But it doesn't hurt to have both those things.

I don't think specials to not have a higher chance of missing, that's just the RNG messing you up :) I looked over a bunch of raids and the miss rate on bosses seems to be between 10 and 12 percent regardless of the type of damage.

Keep in mind that the "normal" chance to miss against a boss is 9%. I'm not sure if that extends to pets or not, but Animal Handler and Heroic Presence alone wouldn't cover it.

Yet pets miss a lot more than that.

Random Number Generator

a.k.a. the thing that decides pretty much everything in wow.
crit's, hit's, how hard they hit, if that loot you want drops etc.

It hates players.

Ahh, yeah. After looking at my pet's WWS for my entire raid tonight (3/5 MH, and Magtheridon), all of her attacks missed at about a 19-20% chance. I think that those numbers might have gotten messed up by Banshee Curse (reduced chance to hit by 66% for 5 min), but at least all the percentages are consistent.

I've found my pets miss rate to be around 12% with 2/2 AH
