Am i playing wrong?Follow

Well first off let's look at my armory. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Norgannon&n=Mikesalt

Now am I wrong using daggers? or being dagger spec?

I do enjoy the opening with ambush, SND, then SS till dead. I mostly do raids or 5 mans, only thing I do alone is the dailies.

In mostly use backstab twice, then SND, then continue backstab till dead. I generally stay around the 650-700 dps.

So my question is I see all the time Swords is the way to go, so how much more damage am I looking at if I go swords? I have purchesed one of the badge daggers and working on the 2nd one.

I'm sure there is still alot of gear to be had with badges and raids.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm sure you've heard it before, but you shouldn't be Sinister Striking with daggers.

uh.... I hope you don't mean he should be doing hemo instead. No, I take it to mean he should be backstabbing?

If you really enjoy being Daggers go for it. Mqke sure you are doing everything right but go for it.

But never presume that you do more damage than you would with swords. If you want to do the absolute max DPS possible as a Rogue you need to go swords. But if you don't care about that then go for daggers, just don't be a gimp dagger rogue.

If you are going to be a dagger rogue, combat daggers or Sub daggers cannot compare to mutilate. The combo point generation and control you have over your target is obscene. 41/20/0 is the optimal mutilate raiding build (see my armory in sig). You may want to shift some of your points to share between the two poison talents (vile and imp I think, too lazy to look) but overall if you want to PvE with daggers, mutilate would be the better spec.

Once you use Slice and Dice get five combo points and use Rupture in a 1s/5r rotation in raids.

1/5 rotations are reccomended if your mutilate/combat with the T4 set bonus. and your typically not gonna use this on a lot of trash things

I never use Sinister Strike, unless of course im doing the dailies.

No I generally use, ambush, backstab twice then SND, then backstab till 5 then rupture. On bosses.

But I have been wondering if opening with cheap shot is better, with the 2 CP u get immediatly. then pop snd and start on the backstab.

Of course be patient with me, still learning the rogue style. I just want to improve so im a help in raids not be the reason they fail.

Depends on the mob. All raid bosses are immune and it's a complete and utter waste of a cool-down. With some trash it can be useful, but be careful. Stunning a mob can kill the initial rage generation of your tank. No rage = no threat in some cases.

Best option is to ask your main or off-tank (if you're main assist or general dps) about if/when to use it. Some tanks like to start off with a stun to generate snap threat. Some will say never use it.

Everyone has something to learn of course (I'm a friggen moron about a lot of stuff myself!), but... not trying to be a jerk, but you're 70 with badge gear. You should know the basic mechanics of your class by now.

Read the Roguecraft 101 thread, the stickies here, and any other info you can find. Understanding your class and how to use it optimally will help ensure that you "help in raids not be the reason they fail."

Get out there, do some research and melt faces!

Happy hunting.
