I've got a BM spec hunter alt that's dinged 70 and from the way things are going, is probably never going to see any advanced content past Kara (plenty of mains who are hunters for our 25 man raids) so with those limitations in mind, what would be the best melee weapon or weapons for it?
The toon is mostly used for PvE but I do enjoy the BGs as well and I've started putting in some arena time as well, as such, honor/badge reward weapons are also feasible.
Finally, do weapon enchants like mongoose proc when you fire your bow or only when the melee weapon is swung?

only pure stats work.

The Legacy from Kara is also a pretty good axe you can try for. Not really sure why you would get "mongoose" enchant though, (if in fact you plan on it) +35Agi. or maybe Savegery would be better for you.
Axe of Shattered Dreams, Legacy, a pair of the 1 hands from Shattered Sun rep, the numerous 1 handers from MGT, the S3 axe, and the S4 2h axe when it comes out (don't get the hunter specific S4 1h's, they are only for PvP to put +int enchants on). You might also want to try doing ZA for Trollbane.

And if you're running ZA you might as well go for a pair of Dagger of Bad Mojo. +40 AGI for enchants, and can double your mana regen from oil, or double sharpening stone.

Wow PM, you're right! He got through Aethien AND Kompera and didn't get trashed. North has yet to chime in though so we might be speaking too soon. LOL!

now that the sunwell is out id highly reccommend looking at some of the gear drops there they are truly amazing and with that said they have some perfectly build gear for hunters and the NEW LEGENDARY BOW!!!!
