Question on the ignore armor stat.Follow

#1 Jun 10 2008 at 9:10 AM Rating: Good
If it's in the sticky, just shoot me now, I couldn't find it.

I am looking for some calculations on how the ignore armor stat compares to AP. I have seen it before but I am utterly unable to find it now. I'm sure more than one person could benefit from a better understanding of how this actually equates to damage and I know I can for sure.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ignore Armor table

Shows you how much % dps increase a certain amount of armor pen gives.

For anyone too lazy to click the link, 100 armor pen = .34% damage increase. Should be able to calculate any armor piece or total easily by that number.

From one of the threads on EJ.

Quote:
1 Haste > 1 Hit > 1 Agility > 1 Crit ~= 2 AP ~= 7 Armor Pen

A few things: There is a hit cap, 95 for SV and 142 for BM/MM. Stacking haste will really differ in matters regarding spec, trinkets, and weapon speed, and it has a cap too. Crit also has a cap, but it is much harder to achieve.

I don't know the number, but I'm pretty sure that it has no effect once you reach 0.5 speed, as that is the hidden cool down on auto. Crit wise, 100%-mobs block chance-your chance to miss. 1% chance to crit=22.08 crit rating, so you need 2208 crit rating to achieve 100% Crit. Since being hit capped will reduce the chance to miss to 0, the only thing that you have to worry about is the mob's blocking chance. That means that there is no way to crit 100% of the time*, as you cannot have more than 100% chance to crit.

Since the game is "random" (it is statistics based, so it is not literally random), you could still crit 100% of the time with 1% crit, or 0% with 99% crit (not literally).
