I am really enjoying Enhancement spec on my way up to 70. I am finally in Outlands, just dinged 62, and am trying to participate in some of the dungeon quests (e.g. ramparts). It seems like healers are always in demand while DPS not so much (I got in to this expecting this scenario). I have been collecting up my healing gear and have pretty decent pieces for most of my body. I was just curious, for these lower level instances would I be able to heal effectively enough that I could say that I would heal? Or is this only something a resto can manage?
Note: I'd much rather try for a DPS slot because I would be much more effective...but with the lack of healers I was wondering if I could fill in and not wipe the group.

Yes, you'd still be able to heal while being enhancement specced.
At 60 I had switched to resto from enhanced but found it difficult to do quests solo, so I respecced to elemental (to try something different from enhancement). Stayed there all the way to 70 while healing instances very well.
As long as you have some healing gear, you should be fine.

Yup you can, I was MH on a BM run once for a guildy as we couldn't get anyone else.
you should have no problems healing with a good set of gear and lots of water (as you probably will go through it quick each pull).
I would like to suggest running with paladin tanks since they need to stop for mana breaks like you do, Druid's and Warriors at lower levels just love to rush pull so much (its mostly cause of how rage works not really there fault, poor design).
But then again pallies like to AoE tank everything and are generally quiet cocky so just tell them to watch it cause its not like your heals are buffed up crazy.
The only thing you will find stopping you from healing instances is the party not wanting you to, people just don't trust off spec healers unless they have no other choice.

I have a 64 Enhancement spec, but have played both Elemental and Resto getting up to this level. I was Resto in the late 50s for BRS, BRD, Ramps and BF and changed to Enhance for the solo leveling in OL. From my experience - you will be able to heal, but it will be difficult to be an effective healer as enhancement spec. Unless you are able to put some points into the Restoration tree (especially to reduce interruption during spell casting), you can potentially have a rough time getting your heals off quickly enough to keep people alive if a mob breaks off from the tank and starts hitting the healer.
