Does anyone use this site? (be.imba.hu if you have no clue what I'm talking about, go check it out.) If you do, how accurate in the performance meter would you say it is? It places me at an almost bt hyjal point and I wouldn't personally say I'm geared enough for it but it seems like it's a fairly good judge of other people when I'm looking at their gear.

Was just on the site and was wondering, felt like just putting it out there...=)

If you wanna judge me yourself look at armory and tell me how undergeared for **** I am compared to the site. Just something to do if your bored. =P

Have fun

I haven't myself (guess I should). But my new raid is qualifying applicants with it and I hear that more raid leaders are using it to audit people before testing them out.

Anything like this (maxdps is the example I'm thinking of) makes me a bit skeptical as it can't possibly quantify player skill or mentality which are, in my opinion, far more important. If you're decked out in full t5 and an *******, well, I don't want to raid with you. ;)

But for pure number-crunching they can be useful. Especially if it saves raid/class leaders from hours of doing it themselves with raw armory data.

It's an awful site.

It bases gear upgrades on item levels, not on the itemization of the piece of gear.

For example, Edgewalker Longboots are considered worse than Black Featherlight Boots, when this is definitely not the case.

Black Featherlight Boots
34 hit = 78.88
98 ap = 98
total= 176.88 T5 EP rating from EJs roguecraft101 thread

Edgewalker Longboots
29agi = 62.35
4agi/4hit = 17.88
4agi/4hit = 17.88
3hit = 6.96
13hit = 30.16
44ap = 44
total = 179.2

Not a huge difference but just trying to illustrate Theo's point.

I just look at it for the fun of it. But as Therion said, it's pretty hard for them to actually judge a person's performance. I mean, someone decked out in T6 gear could be horrible compared to someone in T4. It's all about the way a person plays, not entirely with what they wear (not saying it isn't important, but I'm sure you get what I mean).

Uh, someone in T4 is going to put out like 1k DPS.

That's how much I auto-attack for. :|

yea that's really what I was thinking about this site, looked at it and said "there's no way in hell I'm that geared". Other reason I asked is cause a lot of my guild officers use the site frequently and I wanted to know if it was even worth their time.
