Do we know yet...Follow

Okay, theres so many different pages of "What we do know" to look through, I was wondering if it has been announced WHERE the deathknight starting zone is, and/or what its called?

My assumption would be someplace near the plaguelands, perhaps Gilneas, south of Silverpine.

If anyone has spotted anything official or semi-official, throw a link (or at least reply with what information you might have).

Well, I know it will be in Eastern Plaguelands but I'm not sure exactly where in there. Any players in the alpha testing form might know something more concrete.

Suppose it makes sence that it would be EPL. or connected off of there. The DK's finish all their "learning" quests, and then proceed into the zone at large.

Also they start off inside a Necropolis, but again, where it is, I don't think was mentioned other than 'eastern plaguelands'

You know how Naxx is going to be moved to Northrend? I think that the necropolis is going to be somewhere around the area that the entrance to Naxx used to be in. Death Knights are supposed so start out working for the Scourge, so this would make perfect sense.

Just about any link will tell you that Death Knights began by pledging themselves to the Lich King. Take your pick: http://www.wowwiki.com/Death_knight or http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/features/deathknight/gameplay.xml
read the inverview.

Yea, they are supposed to have worked for the Scourge, and decided to break away, so thats perfectly reasonable.

Thanks for the info, I suppose I won't know anything more for sure till release gets closer.

one theory ive seen posited on the Oboards WotLK forum is that the DK's in the xpac will be people who were taken during the third war (WC3) and during the scourge invasion (naxx opening), which makes perfect sense to me.

From what the designers have said about the class, DK will be those who willingly served the Lich King, but for some reason (to be made clear during the "training" quests) broke away. The people who were taken were likely those who were exposed to the plague and made into the mindless lesser undead. With the exception of Sylvannas, whom Arthas left with a trace of personality so she could witness what she did in the name of the Lich King; the only servents of the Scourge left with sentience were the willing, like the liches and death knights. Obviously, the Forsaken owe their existence to the folly of Arthas in wanting to torment his foe beyond simple death.

In the Deathknight Interview at the Official WotLK site, it says they are playing around with the idea of having them start out in Strat and having to escape. Have'nt heard anymore on this, but safe to believe that it will def be in EPL and maybe near Nax (was) or Strat.

The latest I heard (damn, can't remember where though ... or I'd link it) is that since Naxx is being moved to Northrend, the current Naxx will be replaced by another Necropolis and it is there that the Death Knight players will start their journey.

It’s connected to Tyr’s Hand and the Noxious Glade. So when you head out to EPL/WPL you will have a general idea of where its at. Ebon Hold is the name.
