PvP is *extremely* fast. It's a twitch game. You have to be able to react much more quickly than you do in any PvE encounter. (I mean... in PvE, you are killing a boar or something and it's not going to kite you/mortal strike you/have 2 of its friends cheap shot you).
It is a completely different fascet of the game. One thing that helps is playing other classes. A great example of this is:
You have unstable affliction on you. Who cast that? Can that class have unstable affliction and Soul Link? What does Soul Link do? What is the casting time for holy light? What's light's grace? Can a rogue ever vanish twice? What does Shadowstep do? If you get intercepted, should you blink? What is charge and it's cooldown? What is a feral charge? If you get scatter shot, does that same hunter have a big red clifford pet?
The above questions are just a small sampling of knowing how other classes work. If you cannot answer them easilly, read some more and keep on PvPing. You know when you are starting to understand when you automatically go, "Ah hah! I have you now! You just blew your last escape cooldown!"
