I was doing 2s with my disc priest partner yesterday in our 2nd week together. We're doing pretty good, but haven't really played together long enough to get that good synergy. Thankfully we're hovering around 1500 so we really aren't fighting any tremendously tough opponents.

We had managed to do about 20 matches our first week without fighting a single warrior/druid team, but our lucky streak ran out in our 6th match of our second week.

First match against war/druid I try to stay on the warrior and keep him off my priest via crippling and stuns, but I just can't burst through the druids healing on a plate wearer. The fight lasted almost 10 minutes as the warrior really didn't get a whole lot of DPS time on my healer and he was able to keep himself alive.

In Vent after the match I tell him if we fight any more war/druid teams I'm gonna get on the druid and stick to him like glue until he is dead while my priest teammate eats the warrior's DPS. I would also take any opportunity to get a crippling up on the warrior. My partner's immediate response is "You can't kill a resto druid!!!" Whatever, I said, I can't burst through a druid healing a warrior either so we may as well try something new.

Our next 3 matches were against war/druid teams, the 1st one against the same team that beat us the first time and the next 2 against a different war druid team. In none of the 3 matches did we outgear our opponents (I have about 293 resil and 1500 AP and my priest has even less AP and about 8200 unbuffed HP), but all 3 times I got on the druid and managed to kill him while my partner kept himself alive.

One of the matches our opponents even decided to put the warrior on me, which my partner was easily able to heal through.

So, my fellow ShS rogues, next time your arena partner tells you you can't kill a resto druid, just laugh at them and tell them about this scrub rogue you know who did it in 3 straight 2v2 matches.

Meh, resto druids aren't that big of a deal if they're bad. It's the good ones that pose the problem to a healer/rogue team, because if the druid shifts to bear, the warrior is going to eat your priest while the druid tanks you.

A well-placed stun will get a resto druid down, though.

That's why I hate healers in 2s; it makes all the matches much more boring. I much prefer a feral druid or another rogue, because druid/DPS teams are amazingly easy.

I've not done arena, so perhaps I don't know...

But it strikes me as impossible for one class to be so completely overpowering of all others that it would be impossible to kill them.

It isn't overpowering, it is overhealing!

You get them to 10% health, they get out of stunlock, and before you know it they are max health again.

The only way to kill them most of the time, is by OOMing them, especially as lolstep when you have no burst...

I have a hard time killing resto druids as 2dps mage/rogue.

That's because you're letting them shift out of shatters! Smiley: tongue

Yeah, my team really has no trouble when it comes to teams with resto druids, MS warriors, or Both (Fire mage/Combat swords rogue, we PvP as raid spec and do surprisingly well) we can usually CC one and burn the other with little or no difficulty.

I honestly havn't had to deal with OOMing resto druids but that's simply because we deal an ungodly massive amount of damage at the cost of any real survival.

(priests mess us up so badly though, it's not even funny)

I'm going to go ahead and guess you haven't gotten out of the 1700s at best.

I honestly will not deny that we've yet to break 1620, we use our PvP to fuel our PvE needs in all honesty.

This should be remedied in the next week or so once my mage buddy fills out his frost set, then I can go ahead and spec ShS Hemo (I've had a fair amount of experience with the build) we may be able to progress rather nicely when we do.
