Hello alll, I am new to the forums and only about a month into WoW. Anywho...I play a Warlock for solo'ing but my wife has started playing WoW and I am looking for a druid spec to level with her. We have been playing for a bit now, she is in love with her hunter and all the pretty pets she can raise. We are mid 20's already and I am currently using feral. I know feral is the way to go for soloing but honestly it seems a waste in this duo. My wife's pet tanks, so my bear form is rarely used, which means wasted talents, and to be honest, I seem to spend 50% or more of my time in caster mode healing/buffing and doing crowd control. We are going all out PvE and plan on mainly dou'ing as much content as we can(instances a couple levels lower than us so far).
So, anyways, to make a long story short, I was thinking a balance/resto combo would be better for us since I seem to be in caster mode most of the time anyways. What do you guys/gals think? I like my druid and the druid seems the best choice for duo'ing with a hunter but my feral build just feels lacking. Some recomendations please.

Since your in the mid 20s you have the ever so wonderful cat form! While duoing just let her pet tank and you dps from behind the target as a cat. She can keep up her pet with mend pet. You should only be coming out of cat form every 10 mins to reapply thorns, or if you bite off more than you can chew and have to heal up the hunter while she attempts to trap and you pop roots. You mentioned wasted talents without using bear form. Feral isn't just for tanking. It is also melee dps! and once you get leader of the pack your hunter friend gets that niiiiice buff.

If you're not enjoying Feral don't keep it up. You could do a Resto or Resto/Balance spec as you suggest, particularly if you enjoy healing (will make it that much easier to fill in instance groups). While you're duoing with another person is a great time to experiment with specs that aren't often used for leveling. Especially duoing with a hunter - face it, she doesn't *really* need you there at all to level with relative ease. So you should play whatever seems fun to you. :)
