Restokin or Cookie CutterFollow

I'm en rotue to 70 (only a few days left) and then I'm starting to stare pvp straight in the face. Thusly armed with my knowledge of warlock and rogue pvp, feral leveling blues, blue resto pvp set and epic engineering shades, I step forth to face the music.

Basically, I'm just wondering which has a gentler learning curve, restokin or 8/11/42. Mainly BG's at this point with a little bit of arena for points, sh*ts and giggles. Thoughts?

And if you have any tips for budding resto druids in the pvp scene or the pve scene, by all means drop by and have your $0.02

restokin is normaly far enough into bal to pick up moonkin and dreamstate then rest into resto. that build is pvp healing build. i curently am moonkin with enough into resto to pick up the mana regen and 2 points into reduced threat. and it seems to work ok with 2v2 still learning though ive only done 10 matches with a hunter and we are 5 and 5. i guess it's all onto you what you wanna do. i normaly stealth/dash out to pick our targets cept in the open one then i just shadowmeld right at door. then eather cyclone a person or release trees or both. only problem is i notice my heals aint all that good so if he dies normaly i do also.

i think it's all on how you wanna play.

Yeah, I'm talking about the 34/0/27 swiftkin/restokin build. Nothing with trees >.>

I would go with the cookie cutter build, but perhaps take 13/11/37 (improved spell range and insect swarm from balance).

Restokin doesn't have feral charge or swiftmend, two very handy skills to have in PvP IMO.

Restokin relies on insane mana regen to do well in arena, so you probably won't have that when you just reach 70.

You might even want to go something like 0/30/31 taking up to (and including) Heart of the Wild in the Feral tree to increase your int a bit if you're just starting out in arena.

No matter how you go, you're going to come under focus fire early on in BGs and Arena. That said, it feels as though Restokin would have a little better survivability. And lasting a little longer is more important in the long run; you can't heal when dead! I'd try Restokin.

With both, you will obviously get a lot better as you get better gear.

To Dotorion, Restokin does have swiftmend. That is actually pretty much the point of the build isn't it? Go into balance for moonkin. then go into resto for swiftmend. I have a friend who uses that build with a hunter and they own in arena!

No, you cannot have both Moonkin form and Swiftmend. Both talents require 30 talent points in their respective trees. That's one of the major weakness of Restokin, you do retain Natures Swiftness however.

the main reason for going restokin isnt so much for the kin part, but for dreamstate (which is adjacent to moonkin). once youve got 33 points into balance, it just makes sense to nab moonkin form for one point because essentially you have either 33/28 or 34/27, and one more point into resto is nowhere near as valuable as taking that point and nabbing moonkin form.

@Narroai: Oh really ? Exactly what build did you have in mind, then ?

31/0/31 ? Does your friend play on a private server perhaps ? Because that is impossible.

When I think restokin, I think either 31/0/30 or 34/0/27, the latter being more focused on mana regen and outlasting.
