When to start arena?Follow

#1 Jun 06 2008 at 2:32 AM Rating: Decent
Well, I'm going to ding 70 later today :D, and I already have the full Opportunist's Leather Battlegear set. Assuming I get well enchanted, is this decent enough to start arena in, or by entering w/o epics, will I just get pwned, and lose all respect for myself? I wanna be well prepared for arena, but the task of honor farming BGs for months for s1 gear seems a little daunting to me. . . Oh, and for details, my arena partner would be a rogue with the same set/enchants, as we have been doing stuff together since 60 ^_^, and I like to consider us as above-average rogues. We're pretty damn good, but not good enough to make up for gear that would be lacking. So any comments would be appreciated. Yep.

Form a 2v2, and get 10 games a week while farming BGs.

You will lose all respect for yourselves.

in addition to you needing to start arena ASAP, also do this for points efficiency :

Whenever your team drops to below 1250, disband the team and buy a new one. It will help you gain points faster.

Also quite helpful! AND specific! :3 I'd feel bad ditching my friend like that, but hey, arena points is arena points, eh? so ty too. ^_^

We're not saying you need to ditch your friends.

Just disband the team and recreate one with the same friend. You'll still loose (or loose even more since you'll be playing at a higher ranking), but at least you'll still be in the 14xx... will help you get 2xx points a week although you're just loosing 10 games.

Obviously, son't play more than 10 games a week when you have no gear. Play more only when you feel you start being skilled and/or geared enough to improve your ranking.

omfg dood, I get it! thank you! Arena's always been kind of a mystery to me. . . that great 70 endgame PvP wonderland. Yay for the slow, methodical loss of n00bness. :3

As you guys start getting new gear and start getting more comfortable with arena, go visit my PvP FAQ. I've got some info in there that you'll probably be interested in.
