I've seen countless posts about what resto and feral druids should have for stats to start Kara, but I'm curious as to what you guys think a balance build should have for Kara. Seeing as I dinged 70 a week or so ago, and my guild already has a resto druid and a resto shammy for healing heroics and what not I figured I wouldn't fall into the "Go Resto or else" pit. So tell me what you guys think these stats should be and I'll see how well I match up atm.

lol nice quote. i just googled it my self will tell you what i find out.....

Balance Druids
Unbuffed:
Spell damage: 500+ (early Kara), 750+ (later Kara)
Spell Hit: 6%+ (early Kara), 9%+ (later Kara)
Spell Crit: 15%+ (early Kara), 18%+ (later Kara)

from http://thk.dkpsystem.com/blogs.php?blogid=1

but i would think little higher than that on the starting i dont know i'm sitting at about those stats i think at 69 true my hp mp5 and int is kinda low but i have crap gear i just switched back to bal after 7 lvls of feral.

4.8k hp
7.4k mana
416 sd
2.26% hitrateing plus spec
17.31% crit
110 mp5 casting.

so i would say higher than what they said some.

Our Balance Druid (logged out in healing gloves apparently... dont know if he has better DPS gloves) has (unbuffed, and seemingly in Cow Form on Armory):

Sp Damage 782
Sp Hit 31 (2.46%)
Sp Crit 13.75%
MP5 309
Sp Pen 23

And he holds his own on the charts (neither sets pace nor holds us back). We can clear it in a 3 hour session, but arent yet at the point where I'd call it an autopilot/farm situation. It depends on how quickly/efficiently we can plow through trash in the 2nd half.

Well apparently I may not be on to attempt my first roll in Kara seeing as my laptop harddrive decided to have an epic failure on me....

But this is my armory atm... http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ysondre&n=Arex

I'm sort've close, but as you can see I'm in the process of replacing lower level gear with 70 gear. I'm sure after a few more 70 instances I'll have the necessary gear to run Kara.

now i know there is a guide on another site (either wowhead or emerald) that has a shopping list for entry into kara and each slot has 3-4 pieces of easily obtainable gear. I'll try to link the page later when i find it. anyone of know of similar thread as it for balance/moonkin?

Lol someone rated me down.

Anywho... I had my first encounter in Kara and it went pretty well. I came in right before the opera event and after all was said and done 4 of us were left standing (my guild is just starting to do Kara as a guild) and I was one of them. I ended up third in damage behind a mage and a hunter from when I came into it. I also (thank god) out dps'd a better geared moonkin because his spell rotation sucked and he is a wrath nuker on bosses.

All in all it went pretty well, looking forward to actually being on early enough to down Curator and keep working from there.

I've been away from WoW for awhile and have just recently return. Here are my stats.

Balanced:

Talents: 48/0/13
Bonus damage: 1064 - Nature Damage: 1107
HP: 8894
Mana: 9350
Crit: 13.2%
Hit Rating: 70

For a boomer starting kara - if my memory serves me currently: spell dmg at a min 600 with crit as close to 20% as possible (in boomer form).

i did kara on my boomkin for first time the other day i was 4th on charts. i went in with like 565 spell damage and about 24% crit in moonkin form. i had to help heal some or i would have been higher. according to recount i was only pulling around 495dps if i rembmer right might be alittle high cant remember. that was total damage though. but yeah i think the spell rotation makes a diff.

Agreed. Spell rotation is very important. I keep my dots up at all times. So even if I am off healing I'm still doing damage thanks to the dots. My rotation depends on who I'm fighting. For example, Aran which requires mobility for the most parts, I dot then wrath x 6 then redot my target. If its a long fight and I don't need to be mobile all that much I dot then stargfire x3 then redot target. Finishing off with the wrath rotation, mana permitting.
