After months of just running Kara and topping the DPS meter every week, I was asked to finally use some of my DKP points on some gear since the raid leader feels bad that nuthin really drops for me in there.

So last night, I was thinking "WHAT IF" Prince drops the Bow and the Ring? should i use my DKP or pass it to the MM hunters or Rogue...Turns out, he DID drop both the ring and bow and raid leader and everyone else says I should get both. I decided that I'll just use my DKP on the Bow and skip the ring since I'll be getting the Angelista's Revenge very soon.

SO make my crit scope, get the dusty quiver off my bank and get some Mysterious Arrow and sure enough my DAMAGE and Crit go up, but when I plug it into the spread sheet...I LOOSE out on DPS...from 1002 to 984!!

I used my Don Santos the entire time BTW, and I placed it in the bank just in case I cant make this Sunfury work.

My attack speed went from 1.98 to 2.1 is most likely the culprit of this loss. And to get back to 1.98 speed, I would need to equip about 125 Haste rating gear which is NOT easy to get if I am only in KARA.

I really want to give this bow a chance...

Should I change my Shooting rotation from the sticky

3:2 with a 2.1 should work out rather nicely.

Get the badge bow?

badge bow will be somewhere between Prince and the Don. It's unlikely he'll outperform both with the middle ground solution. If I were BM, I'd have stuck with Don Santos, but the 3:2 is supposed to be an increase that benefits only when using slower weapons, so I would definitely try that first. Cheeky's spreadsheet is darn good, but you can't trust it 100% -- it isn't you and doesn't model exactly the way you play. The best answer is to take a damage meter and go whack on Dr. Boom for 10 minutes.

If the Don Santos' was better than the badge bow, it'd be a helluva lot more than ~1k gold on the AH.

Last night I used Aethien's suggestion of 3.2 rotation with the Sunfury. It definitely was a shocker! I made 2.6 Million Total Damage while the guy below me (MM Hunter with similar gear and the PvP bow) made 1.7 Million at the end of Curator.

OF COURSE, the BBW dropped the WS, so now I have a collection of ranged weapons I can test out to no end.

So back to 1.1 then? Also got the itch to buy something with the 66 badges I accumulated and got Angelista's Revenge and replaced my last piece of PvP gear the Vindicator Ring.

I was using the castsequence 1:1 macro I'll give the 3:2 one above a try in in our friday night ZA run and see how I like it with Sunfury. Thanks!

I thought it might shoot 3 steady to every 2 auto without the sequence if my speed was slower? Maybe I am not getting it....

I was hoping one of the local experts had a concise answer. Such as a 3:2 rotation uses these Shots: in this order: and can be performed with this macro:

That TKA something page is just a giant wall of TMI that shows speeds and clipping but does not summarize or break it down in any way that I find useful. Another of the TKA something pages had a make your own shot rotation macro based on speed section and half the macro's did not work and had more characters than WoW would even accept. ._.

When I was MM I used to weave in Arcane and Multi but did it organic with no macro as part of my rotation, DPS was stellar but not efficent or sustainable mana wise.

I have been enjoying the simplicity of 1:1 but would like to adapt to the slower speed of the Sunfury if its at all possible.

I'm just posting on breaks at a work training today, I'll have more time to look into it for myself later tonight.

Hmmph. Explaining things in a simple, easy to understand way isn't going to keep our reputation as aloof wise-men sitting on top of a mountain intact for long. Srsly Xsarus...

But it does raise the question, why haven't we put in a section for explaining these terms in the sticky(ies)? As you can see, there's actually posters who read them in an attempt to understand Hunter mechanics. A miracle we shouldn't squander.

The macro you posted is what I was using last night and "thought" that it was the 3.2 that Aethien was referring to.

It seemed to work just fine for me..Tonight I will go back to my OLD Macro with the WS and see if it will be an improvement or not.

1.) Who uses DKP in kara...srsly..

2.) I hate all of you who have Sunfurry, I have downed prince weekly since early March up until now and he refuses to drop Sunfurry, at this rate im gonna get Illidan's bow before I even see Sunfurry.



PS: I absolutely refuse to purchase the badge bow even though its a pretty big dps upgrade simply because the damn thing is SOOOOO ugly. I mean comon'... if you turn it around it looks like a wiener with the pubes on fire.

I must say if you turn down Badge bow because it "looks" bad, you really should not be in a raid guild.
