recommened stats for starting ZAFollow

#1 Jun 05 2008 at 8:07 AM Rating: Decent
Can anyone help with recommending statistics for both affliction and destruction locks when starting ZA.
What should spell dam, spell hit, crit etc be at when getting ready to take that place on?

No blues, except for maybe the odd trinket. Should be well geared from Kara/Gruul/Mag.

ZA is classified by many as Post-T4, For Destruction I recommend 950+ dps(wws combat logs), 900+ spell damage, 18%+ crit, hit capped-202, I only go destro cause our guild is working on speed runs and there's nothing speedy about waiting 18 seconds for your damage output, for affliction-progression kills: 900+dps, 1000+ shadow damage, 15%+ crit, hit capped-202(without suppression).

I've downed troll/bear boss (can NEVER remember his name) with my guild on a very short run and my stats are lower that FreeTrial's suggestions.

Having said that, while I was top 3 on the dps meter, the rest of the raid were better geared than me and there's no way they could have afforded to take more than two at my gear level. I think our hunter was about the same in gear.

Basically, I'd say FreeTrial's suggestion is almost spot on - but I don't think you need Grull/Mag gear - max out on as much Kara stuff as you can and gem right and you're good to go.

my stats are the minimums ive found for getting 2-3 chests without severely gimping your raids chance of completion, of course single boss kills or even progression runs(not being timed) lower is fine, the only thing your group will be racing is your healers mana.

although, 3rd out of 5, or 3rd out of 6 depending on group setup is something to pat yourself on the back about, especially if you were out geared.

Be Imba is totally safe.

Although I tend to question it's rating systems.

Anyways, my guild has started to push for more bear runs. There really is a treshold it seems to when gear stops playing a huge factor and team work and knowledge of how to do things as fast as possible take priority.

I just did a bear run before and just missed the timer. Then the next time we went with a group that was far inferior to the last one and we still did almost as good.
