I've been a caster druid for such a long time that I can't quite figure out anymore what to do about my cat set, especially with the changes that have been made to HoTW.

I picked up Chestguard of the Conniver a while ago, but I'm also sitting on enough Soul Essence to make Shadowprowler's Chestguard. Which one is the keeper?

without any gems
Chestguard of the Conniver = 127AP + 22 Hit + 36 Sta
Shadowprowler's Chestguard = 104AP + 8Hit + 12 Sta (+ Red/Blue/Yellow sockets)

if you can get Balanced Shadowsong Amethyst x 2, Enscribed Fire Opal, this will give you an extra 30AP and 15 Sta + 5 hit which would increase the Shadowprowler's Chestguard to 138AP (4agl from equiping gems) + 13Hit + 27Sta

i would say Shadowprowler's Chestguard would be better to keep as it can be alot more powerful then Chestguard of the Conniver even tho it will have - 9 sta

That definitely sounds interesting. I'm not too worried about stamina since I shouldn't get hit too much while dps-ing other than the occasional AOE, but losing hit rating doesn't sound too cool. I had an almost traumatic experience when I took the druid to Kara the very first time. I was the last "man" standing during Aran, and with him having less than 2K health left, I had 5 CPs on him and missed twice with a FB that would have finished him off... Since then I'm somewhat paranoid about +hit, be that as a caster or melee.

I'm not sure where I stand with all the other pieces I collected. Just waiting for the squid stick to drop before actually going feral again for a while.

I would say shadowprowler's, gemmed for agi.

Well, the raid schedule and lineup actually allowed for me to spec feral for a couple of days. Equipping all the odds and ends I had stashed away I ended up with (straight copy & paste from the armory)

* Damage: 266 - 291
* Speed: 1.00
* Power2781
* Hit Rating: 125
* Crit Chance: 32.64%
* Expertise: 6

That's with Conniver and still wearing oddities like Stylin Purple Hat, Umberhowls Collar, and a couple more not so cat friendly things, including Earthwarden. Don't really have anything enchanted yet either. Not too bad I think for an off-spec set collected on the side. A year ago when I was still primarily feral I would have been quite happy.

Gonna zap some primals and get that chest done. Still need to figure something out about my hit rating though, especially since I'm about to lose some by equipping the other chest piece.

Druid hit cap is only around 140 or so, not a huge deal to worry about in my opinion since it's relatively easy to get.

You can always swap some of the jems i suggested for ones with +agi and +hit, you should be able to get quite a few gems with +hit on them!!!
also you can always enchant +hit on some items as the 140 cap isn't actually that hard to achieve. i have 100 hit rating with out gems and enchants!!
