right now i am level 70 and i have herbing capped and tailoring capped also, the only thing i do in game is PvP, so i have practically never used taloring, i dont really know why i got it in the first place. so i was thinking should i just get alchemy since i will be using pots more often then i will be making gear considering i have S gear

S gear?

Edit: I went back and reread and noticed something I missed. Yeah, if you PvP then tailoring will be minimally useful to you. Feel free to drop it for whatever.

If all you do is pvp, engineering would be fun.

I'd say the only reason to keep tailoring would be in anticipation of WotLK. I'm sure there will be new tailoring hotness to acquire, and it's an expensive pita to level again.

But, yeah, it really isn't doing you much good right now.

From what i understand tailoring isnt so hot if u pvp more than anything else.....So you are pretty much wasting a slot of a prof is you to do not need it....Alch is cool for making your own pots/elixirs or maybe enchanting which is always useful...

I was in the same position as you when I hit 70 and had 375 Mining and Tailoring. I decided that I wanted to PVP so tailoring was pretty useless for me. I then farmed Netherweave and made about 20 Imbued Netherweave bags for my future toons and then dropped tailoring to start Engineering which is much more useful to me.

Yeah just go ahead and get any items you need from tailoring and drop it for alchemy since you have herbalism maxed capped already.

Yea and in alchemy u will be able to make useful things for raids like mana potion injectors and so on etc...
