Well - I'm ready to start the grind with my mage.
Which faction in Shat should I side with? I'm a tailor/miner. I have 345 Tailor at the moment. Mining is obviously 375 - very easy. What should I do?
Is there a side that is mage 'preferred'? Due to items for sale or quests or anything I might not be considering?

I would personally say join the Scryer's. They will give you the seer's signet which is good for a mage for my fire mage at least while the Aldor offers Medallion of the Lightbringer I think not really sure .
if you are a tailor go scryer, you can get the runed spellthread, very nice and the shoulder enchant is great.

In addition to the Seer's Signet, the trinket from the Scryers is exceptional if you're interested in raiding, Borsuk. As far as shoulder enchants go, I really like both, so I wouldn't suggest choosing based on those.

Go Scyer - for the simple fact that it is much easier to level your Rep. Many more mobs drops signets, and the dailies are signet heaven. Aldor get screwed....lol (which is what I am.....boo hoo).

Thanks for the replies. I guess I should have known. I have about 100 Marks of Sargas (Spell?) so, of course - they are not Scryer. Haha - just my luck.

Also you don't die when you fall down from Scryer's terrace' elevator wing. :p
There is so much that drops Aldor marks it's not funny.
I would go with Scryer.
I do that too, I always trade off my Aldor marks after dailys for Scryer.

I've found that you're more likely to get Scryer rep items while doing dailies. But when it comes time to just sit down, pick a spot and farm them, they're both the same.

That's true. I love going to netherstorm and getting like 3 tomes while getting the attack plans... or just getting the plans on the first kill (LOVE IT!)

I've seen this too, and I always trade my Scryer stuff for Aldor. On the AH, Aldor stuff is worth about 3x the Scryer stuff (due to all the Scryer drops with dailies).
So I trade them 1:1, then sell them on the AH. Nice way to make an easy 3x profit.
I never understood why people traded 1:1 with the current market...
