Hi guys, I've been upgrading my slightly outdated UI today and I was wondering... What does everyone use for unitframes/action bars? Right now I'm using pitbull and bongos3 because bt4 does not have snapping bars (perfectionist) and bt3 is a little old for me.

Also, how do you survive without showing people's icons or faceplates or whatever you call them? I always tell their class by their little portrait, and also I can tell different people apart by using that. A plain bar with life/mana and name just seems cold and lifeless (also it is hard to tell classes on the fly in arena without it, but I think Gladiator will help with that if I can get it working.)

Also, is Ace2 really that awesome? Most of my addons are Ace2 but I don't really see a giant memory difference.

I use Bongos3 and Xperl. Xperl you can see the icon for the class in the bottom left and if you mark you know what target is what. I don't Arena though.

here is another SS with XPerl. The targets class icon is next to the health bar.

I think I am using bartender right now., but I don't show action bars, so not having snapping is moot.

The reason people like ACE mods are because they are all built on the same library and are constantly updated. Using their update client makes life easy for people. There are lightweight add ons that arent ace and there are bloated add ons that are ace. It has less to do with the library used and more to do with how the add on is put together.

Psi, what is your cast bar mod for your target? I got the Xperl pack, but it replaces the name field with a cast bar, I would prefer it to be like yours with it seperate.

Also, whats your tooltip mod to the left? I use CowTip, but it is huge and throws out so much info. I would prefer something a little less cubersome like yours, but that offers class identification like CowTip.

And yea, I forgot the question about "why ace". The fact that I can open one program before I load WoW and hit the "Select Outdated Addons" and then the "Install Selected" button is why I have about 95% of mine through Ace. I may look at Bartender over Bongos to see, but I really like the drag to create feature they added in Bongos3 in addition to the way the keybinding is set up.

It is either the cast bar from XPerl set to not replace the nameplate (there should be an option to check) or WitchHunt... or it might be Quartz. One of those three.
