I hate my StormheraldFollow

...but I just can't get rid of it.

All that time and money spent leveling blacksmithing, the days I spend grinding mats, the 1500g I spent on the vortices.

But I find myself cursing the weapon more than praising it lately. My biggest complaint is the lack of hit rating. I am a PvP warrior exclusively, and getting to the hit cap without an arena weapon sure does suck. My secondary complaint is the extra stun proc. It probably seems pretty stupid for me to complain about an extra stun but the skillherald's proc combined with mace spec puts my random stuns on DR so quick that all I see in a long fight is "immune" popping up. Now this only bothers me because it seems that a hefty chunk of the heralds itemization is spent on the stun proc, and when people are immune to it after 30 seconds (exaggerated) of fighting it seems like such a waste.

I remember idolizing the damn mace for so long too, and now it's just lackluster. I feel let down.

I mainly run 2s and very occasionally 3s. Do I have any other weapon options besides s3 mace? I am not on an 1850 rated 2v2 (hovering around 1700, although my partner and I had a string of bad luck and poor choices and are at 1660something now) but I will be at or above 1850 before the end of season3. So, aside from the s3 mace do I really have any other options? I was thinking about changing over to master swordsmith but the lionheart blade does not seem appealing and I have heard pretty terrible things about it (fear resist? I'm a warrior what the hell is fear? :P)

I think I already know the answers to my questions but I really wanted to get this off my chest and maybe get some opinions from fellow warriors who feel the same way I do.

if it makes you feel better, the SH and DT procced stuns are on a different DR timer than the mace spec procced stuns. so if youre seeing your SR proc stun get diminished then the guy youre fighting basically just got REALLY unlucky.

so let me get this straight, your problem with it (outside of lacking hit) is that it stuns too much?

thats a serious problem right there! Smiley: clap

On the list of things I never thought I'd hear someone complain about, "stun procs too often" is pretty close to the top.

They're on the same DR timer, actually, unless something has changed since I stopped using my Stormherald... which would be unlikely, although I guess not impossible.

The DT/SH actually doesn't lose any stats by having the stun proc; it's a free bonus. Admittedly they're itemized rather... poorly for Warriors (hello, Agility) but it's not like the Stun proc actually costs you much.

EDIT:

I thought that too, until I had stuns proccing so often that they didn't actually do anything except ratchet up the DR. Sometimes it screws you, sometimes you ***** them. It's still a good weapon.

ive never seen the mace stun get put onto DR because of the DT stun, nor have i seen DT stuns shortened because of previous mace stuns. now, admittedly, i never had a stormherald, as i got an S3 mace before vortex became available thru badges, but i can think of a number of times when a mace stun followed or was preceded by a deep thunder stun proc and there was no DR. i had a full ten second lockout once thanks to a perfectly timed sequence of stuns; intercept to start with, followed by the DT stun, then a mace stun immediately after the DT wore off.

i suppose it could be different from SH. thatd be weird tho.
