Elemental Precision gives Frost 6% hit, even though it shouldn't.
#5REDACTED, Posted: Jun 03 2008 at 12:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) no that would be 3%, but piercing ice gives an additions 6% on top of the 3% from elemental precision. is that what you are talking about?

Hit, not damage.

So your writing disability extends to reading, too? Good to know.

No, it is called 'ghost' hit because you don't see that elemental precision gives 6% chance to hit, not the 3% as stated (that fire receives).

The ghost hit bug from Elemental Precision, does it apply only to Frostbolt? Or to all frost spells, including Ice Lance, Blizzard, and the Water Elemental's Waterbolt?

I'm pretty sure it applies to all spells.

I got my spell hit to 127 and am still getting some sporadic resists from heroic mobs... is that normal since 99 percent is as good as it gets?

It is entirely based on /rolls for you. I have gotten 2 or 3 resists on a row from a level 63 mob with hit capped for level 73 bosses. It is just entirely random, rare, but random even at 99%.

Don't forget that frost will see more full resists due to its binary nature that hit cap has nothing to do with. A spell penetration enchant to cloak might help, or an elixir of empowerment instead of your normal guardian elixir may also help.

I don't know what elixirs are, it's pure death or nothing!

I thought spellpen only did the non-binary resists. (like for supremus) would it really affect frost bolts? I seem to remember reading about it, but most say to just use subtlety on cloak, etc.

Sounds like he was talking heroics, and I'm not one to waste flasks on heroics.

The resistance calculation still calculates in the spell penetration first, as far as I know. As far as the enchant, yeah, that's usually all you need, but if you're rocking Subtlety already, no sense in re-enchanting for a 5 man since it's not like you're using anything more useful than Greater Mageblood(which is silly in 5's anyway) or Draenic Wisdom.

Does anyone know if Blizz is ever planning to fix this? Is it an official bug?
