Yes the T4 are much better than the Felsteel. I know, I know you get more stam but thats if you only care about how much health you have. Unfortunately in end game content 30K health wont keep you alive long without Mitigation and avoidance. the set bonus DOES make a difference because the damage is calculated AFTER your armour mitagates the damgae and AFTER(if its blocked) blocked value is calculated, then the set bonus kicks in! Oh nice! The strength and Agility are very helpful for everything, mit/avoid and aggro/threat. The parry stat is huge, im a big fan of parry, more so that block or dodge. Parrying an attack means no damage to you, rage generation and 50% faster next attack. For the parry alone I like the T4 but then the correct answer will always be depends. Depends what your doing, 5 man or 10 man or 25 man or heroic or mobs or boss, etc. Depends on your other gear and I agree madiens gloves are nice, of course they wont drop for me, but you should carry both. Aggro and mit/avoid. Personally I like my T4 good all round piece of serious Tank gear. By serious tank gear I mean NO PVP crap! lol the PVP stuff throws in stats and that arent really relevant for PVE. Resiliance for example, etc.
You stopped knowing what in the hell you were talking about somewhere after T4 being better than Felsteel. Str and agi are horrible stats to look for on tanking gear, the 2 set bonus is negligable in any serious content and should never be the deciding factor in whether or not you pick the gloves. It's just NOT that kind of set bonus. It's not 4p T6. Parry is a horrible stat to stack. The gains in threat you gain by comparison to stacking dodge, in the case that you ARE stacking avoidance, are minor compared to the losses you take in pure avoidance. You also don't seem to realize that some of the PvP crap is perfectly viable for tanking, like the S2 shield, the shoulders. Ever tried building a resist set while staying crit immune? Resilience scales better than defense for that purpose. Oh, and the problem with 30k health isn't survivability. A tank with those kind of HP and a reasonable AC of say, 18k, would have an effective health pool of ~75k. The problem wouldn't be living, it would be the stats wasted in overkill on survival that could have been put into threat output.
Your understanding of class mechanics is fuzzy, and your spec also shows this. Work on that and you might see outside of T4 content.
