Well tonight first time we tried Prince in Kara, and down he goes, (one shot). I am the MT for my guild, i am up to 14k unbuffed, 491 defense and 102.5. Got new badge boots and just barely kept me over the uncushable mark.

Fight was sweet, no totems to worry about, everybody kept calling out %'s as he was going down.

Well again i post this in wrong spot but what the heck, its exciting to progress like this. So Nethersprite and Nightbane are only one's we haven't tried yet.

Grats on Prince, Nightbane is pretty straight forward and you should have the gear for him. Netherspite really is a fight dictated by the ability of the raid to communicate, and assign people rotation.

i found nightbane to be a visually intimidating fight and i first saw him as a DPSer.

Being DPS, i just kept my nose in his *** and stayed out of the fire.

Later on i went there as a healer.

spammed rank 3 FoL the whole fight and when he was dead, i had like 95% mana left. >_>

He's all bark and no bite.

Netherspite is cake once people understand how the beams work. I tanked him on my pally and didnt have a clue how the beams worked, I didnt realize i only needed to STAND in the red to get aggro, didnt have to actually cause any threat. Knowing that made a big difference, though im pretty dense.

If you want to see the Nightbane AND Netherspite (and tons of other) fights from a Paladin Tank's perspective check out:

pallystolemybike.com

It's Invisusira's website, a fairly well known name in the Paladin tanking community for his constant need to make fight interesting. If you're connection can handle it -- I suggest watching the High Quality versions of the videos.. it's a huge difference, though the YouTube version is also there if you can't stream the HQ one.

Also -- check out Kitten Rescue 3 (gave ME ideas even) and the Rage Winterchill First Kill... Some of my favs.

And CONGRATS!

Thanks for the advice, For some reason in Kara, so far Maiden is the only one that I seem to have a problem with. I guess I take to many big hits cause I can't keep HS up.

I single tank Illhoof, Moroes :me and another pally tank in guild, tank all of them right infront of were he spawns and just Consecrate away and group focuses on kill order, works great, we each keep blessing of sacrifice on each other, so no garrot or blind on us.

But we do all runs with guild only, I have used all the forums here to help out my other mates get gear and specs, so a big thanks goes out to ALLAKHAZAM!!!

Gratz on your success in Kara! Personally I loved proving a warrior tank friend of mine wrong. "Pally's are off-tanks, can't handle main-tanking". Meh!

Anyway...

Melee should always stand at 130-degrees from the point of attack of bosses to avoid cleaves. Most cleave span at least 120-degrees (or 60+ degrees to each side) from the face of the boss. Standing directly behind leaves you open to tail swipes etc.

Nightbane is usually tanked with his *** in the wall so it's not a big deal with him. But for other mobs (Romeo, Magtheridon, etc) it's a good habit to be in that 1/3rd position.

Yeah, that AoE silence is a pain. But if your spamming HS you can still get by. The healers I've run with swear by HoTs for her and it seems to work pretty well. Also, I don't believe she crushes, so stacking all your stam gear helps ;)

I remember the first time I tanked Prince to his death. My guild leader made the comment, "Well, now we know a Paly tank can MT all of Kara!" I was like, "Duh? o.O"

Big gratz to you on the accomplishment! Been there, so I know it must feel great :D!

Yeah, I figured. I only put that post up for the lurkers and newer players on the forum to clarify positioning. Recently went into Kara with a new-to-raiding group and most of them didn't know these little details and it was... "interesting" to say the least. Cheers!
