That's oddly poignant though, as I think most people's inclination is to imagine me sitting at my computer with my face two inches from the screen, snarling and foaming at the mouth as I reply to people's stupid questions, or to Theo an Quor's misguided... um... misguided... Yes, I am a jerk. No, I don't sugercoat things. Yes, I do get tired of seeing the same newbie question asked a dozen different times in a dozen different threads when half of them are still on the front page, not to mention all the FAQs out there. No, I don't hate or even dislike any of you. Yes, I do kick babies' highchairs. (True story. Though, to be fair, that baby deserved it. He gave me a dirty look.)

So, what is moral of this story? DW is better than 2H. At everthing. All the time. Period.

Although typically resto spec, I occasionally go enhance for a few days to pound out some dailies and such. And although I'm a newish 70 (3 weeks?), sadly the only weapon that has dropped with me in group is Gorehowl. I never even saw a weapon when I was running non-heroic stuff, so I can't even use blues. So I agree with the above quote unless you're stuck with quest reward or AH greens... then take your big dorky axe and enjoy it. (I guess there's always the PvP 1H option, but that much EotS with Alliance battle tactics make me want to shoot myself)

Honestly, you are better off doing one of two things in this situation.

First, you should equip the 1H and a shield and try to shock/heal your way to victory which you won't be able to do unless you are playing a truly gimped pvper.

Second, and this is the way I'd go, you should make a clown costume set of gear and hope your opponent dies of laughter. Even if this were to work I'd still only give you a 50/50 chance of winning.

P.S. In an effort to be helpful: Run regular Magister's Terrace. The regular instance usually coughs up 2 1H blues that are pretty nice for newbie 70s. Also, take a mage.
