the original incarnation of bear mangle in BC was pretty damn imba. you basically had an attack that hit about as hard as a warriors MS but in a form that had way more survivability/mobility than a warrior did. it basically merged prot war survivability with arms warrior damage and then tossed in the ability to break any and all snare/root effects on demand.

it was pretty freaking imba, and justifiably nerfed as a result.

How can it possibly be imba when it's on the right side of things? :)

I'm most excited over Imp. ToL, generates 1% of your total health every second, and gives you +360% of your armor, which is gonna be GREAT for pvp, all those QQ threads about resto druids being unkillable.....

hah.

cat mangle hitting that hard wasnt a problem; comparably geared feral druids and MS wars are roughly on par in terms of mangle damage vs MS damage. the war still outperforms the druid, but of course the druid provides other bonuses above and beyond just damage. the problem was bears hitting as hard as MS wars; why even bring an MS war to a raid when you can just have bear druids who can tank better and dps nearly as well?

as great as it is to be overpowered, it had to be nerfed, just like warriors and the new rank of execute + sweeping strikes.

I loved doing BG's during that period. I'd just stay in bear form and run around killing everything. I was doing as much damage as everyone else, but with massive armor & stamina. It was really OP but it was hell fun :)

Now now Tea, do not let anything change here. Nice place, along with the hunter forum.

Now you want ugly, try the Shaman forum, right Quor?? I am afraid to ask a n00b question there, I like my head in the place it is now. Shamans are fun to play, almost as much as druid, but getting some newbie advise, no way man.

Assuming you mean the same when you use "newbie" and "n00b," I've asked many a questions about basic Shaman handling on that forum without being flamed. It's all about how you ask, though.

To me, there's a very big difference between asking a noob question and a newbie question. The noob might ask a question like "im lvl 19 how do i kill teh bestest?" while the newbie might ask "Hi, I'm level 19 and I'm concerned with my damage output. Will it improve?"

Both posters obviously don't know about Cat form, but while one seems like a complete airhead, at least the other one is asking a question one can actually answer. Yes, it will improve. In fact, it will improve in one level when you get Cat form. To the noob I'd say you kill the bestest way by deleting the Druid and rolling a Rogue. Night Elf, preferably, to keep the stereotype alive.

Gaudion has little patience for the noobs, but he's quite friendly towards newbies. Had to learn that myself, but then things started rolling. Well, I called him an elitist *******, but then we kissed and hugged and everything's just peachy now. I think.

He never calls me, though. Smiley: frown
