The stamina, int, extra crit, extra socket and socket bonus of the Kael robes make them at least as good as the spellfire ones, if not better.
The belt of blasting is not that expensive, a full round of dailies for a couple of days should easily get the money for the vortexes.
As for the gloves, what good does it do to have extra damage if you then need to compensate the lack of hit with gems, instead of being able to use damage gems wherever you can because you already have good hit from equip bonuses, which also allows you to use a better trinket than the scryer one for example.
I understand that many mages used tailoring when they wished perhaps they had another profession, but thats not a reason to rate me down just because i offered a valid piece of advice and a word of caution. For me it worked very well without tailoring, and I don't see why I should lie or stick my head in the sand because my dps was just as good nonetheless.
No, the Kael robes are worse. Even using +12 spd gems you exchange a large amount of spd for a fair amount of crit (it has one more socket, so using BT gems is in sin'dorei's favour). Give the spellfire robes a third of the bonus spell damage from the bonus.
Let's compare your three items of fail to the trifecta of awesome that is Spellfire, shall we? 12 SPD in all sockets. Sin'dorei would be best with 6spd 5sphit 7stm 6spd, so that will be the one exception.
YOUR FAIL SET
Stam: 31 + 24 + 0 = 55
Int: 22 + 22 + 0 = 44
SPD: 77 + 59 + 74 = 210
SPCRIT: 36 + 0 + 30 = 66
SPHIT: 5 + 14 + 23 = 42
SPELLFIRE, THE PUREBLOODED SUPERIOR SET FOR MAGES WITH A SEMBLANCE OF SKILL
Stam: 0 + 0 + 0 = 0
Int: 17 + 10 + 18 = 41
SPD: 96 + 74 + 74 + (Set)45 = 289
SPCRIT: 28 + 23 + 18 = 69
SPHIT: 0 + 0 + 0 = 0
Spellfire over your set:
Stam: - 55
Int -3
SPD: +79
SPCRIT: +3
SPhit: -42
Using Kavek's patented Gem Equvalence Points (How much it's worth in ibudget):
79 SPD = 6.58333
42 hit = 4.2
3 crit = 0.3
= Spellfire ahead with a wonderous 2.68333 GEP. Flawless victory.
Oh, and you lose 55 stam. Who cares? Unless you're in Sunwell, or have high stam normal gear (in which case you care for arch, naj'entus, maybe Gorefiend) you sure don't. 55 stam is = 3.667 GEP if you do care, which puts it ahead. Mostly you don't. Dying is almost always something that only happens if you're bad.
This post may contain traces of exageration. Unsuitable for pregnant women, people without a sense of humour and probably the intended reader. Oh well.
