Now that my wife has bought a sweet new laptop--this thing, put together for video editing, is more powerful than my 9-month-old gaming tower--we can finally look forward to playing WoW together. We're getting a second account that we will eventually transfer her characters over to, but first we're going to start a pair of characters that we will only play together.

We decided on a pair of Tauren Druids. We'll both be Feral until we hit Outlands probably.

What wisdom do you have for us? Any suggestions on professions, must-have levelling gear, or favorite quest hubs?

Does Leader of the Pack stack? If not, I could see one of us going only as far as Heart of the Wild in Feral and up to Swiftmend in Resto, while the other goes all the way to Mangle. Would a HotW/Swiftmend druid be able to heal Heroics in pre-Kara healing gear?

My $.02...

I think you're on the right track leveling both feral up to Outland. Plenty of DPS and healing, and a tank on hand when necessary. One of you should focus more on collecting healing gear along the way to be the better of the two at healing, so you can go into LFG situations with healz+tank.

Leader of the Pack stacking: No, sorry. I just imagined a party of five feral druids with +25% crit...can you imagine critting every other hit, lol.

Professions: Since you've got mains pick whatever compliments what you already have, or professions that are useful to yourself. I'd make one an enchanter so you can DE all the loot you two get but can't use. Leatherworking is handy at end-game for some nice BoP craftables and the ability to use drums. You'd also be able to put both of you in some pretty nice gear while leveling.

Must-have Leveling Gear: Since you clearly know what you're doing you'll level so fast no gear is going to stick around for more than 5 levels anyway. If one of you LWs I'd just wear what you can craft unless/until something better drops.

HotW/Swiftmend druid healing Heroics: I can't imagine that working for heroics, at least not until you have some SERIOUS +Heal. That'd be a weird build man...I think you'd be seriously gimped for both melee dps/tanking purpose and healing. The much more common (and logical imho) hybrid build is resto and balance because then you're getting the more synergistic talents like Dreamstate for serious mana regen.

I have healed normal MgT with a HotW/Swiftmend build. I had around +1200 bonus healing at the time, and didn't have more trouble than should be expected in a PuG with a tank under 10k health for an instance of that difficulty.

We didn't manage to kill the last boss, but I don't think the issue was my healing though. Oooh pretty bubbles... YEEAARGH!

Not saying it's an ideal build of course, but it seems viable at some degree.

If you don't have other toons on the server to finance you, maybe one should be the bank (with two gathering professions) and the other the skinner/lw. Bank could powerlevel in OL once you're both epically flying.

However, presuming money isnt the issue, I think herbing/alchemy is a great combo for a feral (or two). Even though we can't use pots in animal form those battle and guardian elixirs are nice. Plus, unlike with, say, engineering, you can pass most of those items around. Mining is also good in a dual-stealth team because you can get to those veins in caves easily.

erm...is this even possible? Seems like it would make toon sellers' work just a tad too easy.

It's possible if the account holder is the same person.

Linky.

Actually when tanking you can use a macro to take a health pot and "basically" remain in bear form. It works really dam well in those close battles where you need just a little bit more life.

I think it is
/cast dire bear form
/cast super healing potion
/cast dire bear form

Anyways, this works absolutly great when you NEED it since it is an instant unform, instant pot(which don't trigger CD for bear form), and then instant bear form. At best I only see the small cloud of dust from forming, never see myself as unformed.

The first cast dire bear form is not necessary. I forget exactly what that ! before dire bear form does, but am pretty sure it's necessary/valuable for some reason, lol.
/cast Super Healing Potion
/cast !Dire Bear Form

Note that you can add other non-cooldown-inducing items into the mix for an uberboost to your HP. Here's mine:
/cast Super Healing Potion
/cast Master Healthstone
/cast Charged Crystal Focus
/cast !Dire Bear Form

I don't use the ! in my macro's and they work fine, kinda wierd. I guess I'm just wondering what the difference would be if there is one.

That's really nice, I've never used the healthstones before, but I will now, hehe. If I use the longer macro without all the items on hand, will it still work and skip the missing items and resume bear form, or will it just leave me hangin' out in regular form to be one shotted?

Just skips 'em, in my experience.

I've heard that the ! is supposed to force the macro to wait for the GCD to finish before moving on to the next step, but I've never tried it myself.

I hope that is correct, I have a few things I wanna try if that is the case. But since these are all instant cast items, that is why the ! isn't needed I guess.

Nope:

O-boards Thread

Appearantly it prevents you from toggling an ability.
