Fist Weapons?Follow

So I have saved enough Badges for the new fist weapons, which seem to be too good to be true. My question is, do fist weapons count as weapons, as in, if I put points into DW specialization will it affect anything? because as far as I know, unarmed skill affects fist weapons. I'm just confused and do not want to waste time and gold respeccing over and over.

They do count as weapons. Can't remember where I read this but someone did the math and they did in-fact receive extra dmg from the offhand fist weapon. Grats on the weapons as well :)
