I finally was the MT for the prince fight and handled him like a champ. After weeks of putting on the ol' cat suit for Prince, I finally got to bear it up.

The guild has always been a bit shady of letting a druid MT him, but I think they got an eye opener last night. Maybe I will be the MT for our up and coming K2 group!!

Anyways, I'm just happy to have him on my list things tanked. It felt really really good, a great personal accomplishment(for me anyways). Just thought I would share.

My first time tanking him was with a PuG. Took about 3 tries due to one of the healers dieing each time(same guy each time too), but it was a good feeling to get him down.

Recently I also MT'd a Gruul's Lair run. It seems a little less fun to MT in the big group because there is little to do wrong as a feral tank. No infernals to dodge and MD makes for pretty solid pulls. It seems more dependent on what other people do, particularly the healers than it does on my ability to tank. Lacerate/Mangle spam ftw.

Gratz on being MT for prince. Set a good example for us fellow druids! :D

Mm.. you're making me jealous. I'm getting pigeonholed into resto, as the people I'm hanging out with now wait like 1-2 hours a night for kara healers. >.<

I have been in the same position. I am usually OT but have MT'd pretty much every fight we have done (2/6 SSC & 2/4 TK). If I am DPSing I am always in the top 5 in damage.

But until recently we have struggled for healers so I have been making solid use of the Teleport: Moonglade ability and my respec costs have been stuck firmly at 50g. I have discovered that I am not really a fan of healing as a druid and end up having to get someone else to lead the raid as I am to busy watching health bars & HoT timers to be able to call instructions during fights.

Lately we have picked up some more healers (after only occaisionally having 1 pally and ususally none we now have 2!!) and have even picked up another prot warrior so I get to DPS more which is a lot of fun - particularly with my new powershifting macros!

MT'd prince last friday the first time^^
Died 2 times cause of 4 crushings in a row (in 4 secs i think) which hitting for 4800 each :-(
Was at 17500 hp, 28k armor and 35% dodge in this fight.
So i think it was bad luck. The stats are fine, aren't they?

Maybe one reason i died the first 2 times was, that i had to explain my druid-healer, that lifebloom is a good healing spell and he should use it on me.... 3rd try i had a stack of 3 all the time on me and it was really smooth.
Never went down under 8k hp.(but had not more than 2 crushings in a row)

Stats look just fine. Sometimes there is nothing you can do to avoid getting owned by a boss.

I tried tanking Gorefiend in BT once. I got litterally 2-shot right at the pull. I had 29k armor, 22k HP and about 40% dodge. He hit me with 2 back to back crushings of 11k and 12k :P Gee thx...

I started as the OT in kara, but ended up having to tank every boss due to my gear being better than the MT, even though it was my first 10 man plus raid. I got owned on prince a few times from the parries in phase 2, then I just told the dps to slow it down a bit in phase one. I had tons of threat coming in to phase two and just stopped attacking to avoid the parries lol.

Nice strat, I basically just kept lacerate from wearing off and then hitting mangle when it was up, but not as often as I normally would.

Oh and Druidserg...

If you have Badge of Tenacity...pop it right after you get a little base rage, then it should be up again to pop at the beginning of phase 2. It's great for avoiding chain crushing blows. My first Prince was a bit easier...had about the same HP...but had 30K armor and 40& dodge (45% with badge up and another 2.5% with IoT proc up)
