Up close? That fUcker will put a hole in your chest the size of a plate from across five zones and two servers...

From the wowjutsu link, that hunter has gotten pretty hooked up the last couple days. Not just with the awesome bow, but a couple new daggers and a nice set of shoulders to boot.

Lucky *******. Here I am all excited about getting http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?source=live;witem=32248 last night.

Unless they changed Thori'dal yet again without me being aware of it, it's not actually that impressive. It doesn't use an ammo or a quiver, which means it has those components of our damage built into it. Once you consider that it actually has LESS printed DPS than a Bristleblitz with KoT ammo, and the 15% haste is just our quiver bonus, it doesn't look so impressive.

Then again, there's nothing that says it doesn't use ammo and quiver bonuses, so I'm looking forward to hearing otherwise from somebody who has one.

Holy crap Az... I NEVER thought of that..

Now I'm sadly dis-heartened by the bow.

I wouldn't kick it out of bed though.

Seeing things like that makes me look forward to expansion even more. As I will never be able to step foot in Sunwell, much less kill Kil'Jaeden lol.

1) The Dps of the bow is 162. That's equivalent to 109 list dps, which is higher then the Bristleblitz

2) The reason there is a haste bonus is because you don't use a quiver, no they won't stack, it says they won't stack right on the weapon. Smiley: tongue

3) Arrows only add dps to your auto shot damage, whereas weapon damage adds to the steady shot damage. This means that even if the equivalent dps for auto was the same as a bt bow your steady damage will receive a HUGE buff. This bow is a massive upgrade, and I'm honestly really surprised to hear otherwise coming from you. even at 148 dps (2.4 ptr number guesses) it was a really big upgrade. (and equal to bristleblitz for autoshot dps)

This bow would be better then any bow in the game even if it was at 122 dps. That would put your autoshot at 69 without the arrows, and your steady at 122. This would end up being essentially a 95 dps bow with no arrows, and great stats. Putting in the T6 set bonus and you could lower the listed dps even more and still maintain equivalence. The fact that it is way higher makes this a crazy bow.

I have mixed feelings about the speed, as it means BM hunters won't be able to use any haste gear with it, but I suppose it makes it very friendly to SV hunters trying to use BM rotations, so in the end it's all right.

What numbers were you using anyway? It's never been less then the bristlebritz dps. At worst it was equal for autoshot.

*sigh*

Am I the only one who misses the Rhok n Lokh or however the fUck you spelled it? I mean, those weapons had a look that just screamed Hunter. All the new bows in the game looks like some decorative archway ripped from the front gate of an insane... excuse me, eccentric... billionaire...

I don't like the dead parrot, but I have to disagree with you about thori'dal. I think it looks quite nice. Most of the end game bows are rather nice imo.

honestly the Rhok'delar is ok, but no, I don't think it looks any more like a hunter weapon then our current choices.

Guess we have different opinions on what a Hunter is then. I've probably spent too many hours... well, weeks really... creeping through bush, forests, plains and so on hunting anything from rabbits to people to find these bows any good lookin'. The thing about the Rhok is that it was... well, it was pure nature.

It was a living, breathing piece of nature just like the companion next to you. Crap, now I got all nostalgic. When I get back to WoW I'll have to start pressing my minions into running pre-tbc raids so I can get a replacement for the one I lost when my friend deleted it "because it sucked after BC came".

I just hope I can run the questline again...

Just open a ticket, The GM's will be able to restore it. This assumes you haven't used a lot of restores lately.

Are you sure? It's been gone since before I hit 70. I've never actually used a restore for anything, so I guess it's worth a try. I just thought there was a set deadline for restoration, like two weeks or something.

Thanks. I'll set up a ticket when I get back in-game. Would be fun to get together a full raid with retro-gear and see if we can take down a TBC raid instance. Or see how much those 10 extra talent points/levels affect a pre-tbc raid. I think I managed to hide my T2 gear away in a bank bag before my friend found them...

Right, now I have two goals when I get back online. Get back my Rhok and organize a full raid of pre-tbc epic wearing raiders...

"Equip: Increases ranged attack speed by 15%. []Does not stack with quiver or ammo pouch haste effects[/]."

Actually, there is something that says it doesn't use ammo or quiver bonus'

edit: D'oh! That was already pointed out in another reply. Curse my rapid reading.

On another note, anyone have a pretty picture of the umm "rhok..whateveritsnameis" bow ?

I remember seeing pre-TBC hunters with that pole-arm/staff thing with the bright green glow at the top... what was that thing called?
