A noob's journey in WoW or How I stopped worrying and rolled a priest.
Just as fair warning, this is not thread where I am asking questions about talents, race or gear. This is a chatty thread where I express my appreciation for the Priest class and my fellow priest players. If chatty threads annoy you, then best you leave now as things will get even more annoying. :)
I first began playing WoW about 10 months ago. My very first class ever was Paladin. That was fun, but also very strange as I had no idea what I was doing. I still have my level 8 paladin named Sweetcakes, all decked out in her uber grey gear, and will probably never delete her from sentimentality. My second character was a Gnome rogue who met a sad, sad end at the hands of some extremely ill tempered boars, never to see the light of day again. This took place on a Saturday afternoon, btw. Later I began playing a hunter and actually leveled that character to 49. I also rolled a warlock and that was fun too...but yet...something was missing.
When I first began the game, I spent some time on the official WoW site, busily reading class/race descriptions, trying to find what seemed best. I had read the description of Priest, but it didn't seem like anything I was interested in. Healing? Bah, no thanks, I want to smash and burn things. Then...in my travels I came across a very, very interesting sight. There was a priest all purple and shadowy. Intrigued, I decided to do some more reading about priests. I had also gained a lot of respect for healing classes after having the utter misfortune of running dungeons with my husband, his friend and me...all dps, no heals. Things were grim in that department.
So, I rolled a priest. Not having tried out Draenei before, that was my choice. Levels 1-10 weren't actually that bad...Then came talents. Spirit tap has to be one of the best talents out there, just so cool to almost never have to drink. Even for choosing to go Holy or Discipline I still would choose 5 points into Spirit tap first. Things continued to go well and once I got Shadowform, I was just so pleased with my character. I could dps, and I could also heal my comrades when needed.
Finally, I had found I class I really clicked with. The other classes are good, and I am especially enjoying leveling my druid and shaman, but to me...Priest is where I am most comfortable. So thank you, my fellow priests. While we face challenges and problems ( as do the other classes) I think priests are just..well, awesome.
So, yeah. I have terrible insomnia and am not in the best of health (heh heh, that's an understatement) so I tend to use WoW as a means to distract myself, unwind and just goof off and have fun. I like to create lowbie alts and re-visit my old hangouts. I might never play with the character again after an hour, but the point is that I have fun. In that vein, let me share my priests. I have a lot of them...
Misskreant, level 5 human priest. Likes to hang out in the Lion's Pride inn.

My main, Draenei priest named after a woman of ill repute in The Hitchhiker's guide to the Universe...all shadow, all the time.

Thatdeadgirl, who I feel so bad about neglecting. She is in a guild with some wonderful people. When I started getting very ill, I had to take a break from WoW and was embarrased to talk about it with them. What can I say, I am a weirdo who has trouble talking to people. Like I am so different from most WoW players in that respect? *grins* ;)

and last but not least, my level 8 Nightelf Phaedriel. Kind of interested in seeing Starshards in action, so shooting for level 10.
