I find i dont know all that much about warlocks requirements for raiding/

ive looked around but lots of different information, nothing too precise and iam not sure what to trust cause it all sorta makes sense, the stuff covers a lot of builds.

Ima mostly looking into PVE raiding for warlocks.

What do each of the warlock talent trees, when wishing to raid, look for stat wise?

and how do you tell a good warlock of a certain spec is ready? For like kara, ZA [just the animal totem bosses] or the initial 2 25 mans?

Just my opinion this...

Early PvE Raiding Warlock Requirements - Karazhan

  • All blue gear with the odd purple thrown in if possible (you can get away with a green or two, but replace it ASAP!)
  • Affliction if you're packing +dmg, Destro if packing +crit
  • HIGH +hit is a must (I have 114) (202 cap - buy all +hit gems for gem slots)

That's where I started and did ok. I think Affliction build is best for early raiding, switching to Destro when you have better gear. It just seems to me you can get your +hit up without sacrificing +dam, but +crit suffers badly.

Try Demonology for raiding if you wish - perfectly viable, just really hard work!

+hit should be your primary concern until the cap(202). Prior to hitting cap, it is probably best to be Affliction spec as Suppression can help your Affliction Spells stay hit capped, but not SBs and other Destro Spells.

+Spell/Shadow Damage and +Crit are the next two to worry about. +Crit is worth more to Destro, and Damage to Affliction and Demo.

In my experience, those are the only stats you really gotta worry about, you find things with those stats, and your Sta/Int will kinda just take care of themselves. You do want to aim for like 8k each in HP and MP to start raiding, but as I said, that kinda takes care of itself.

I actually think that demonology with 21 in destro for ruin would actually be a very good build because of the plus dmg talents like soul link and master demonlogist and demonic knowledge and then having the increased dmg after shadowbolt crits and with plus crit talents u could tear up in raiding....

It is a great spec, I use it. The big problem with it though is keeping Succy alive. Getting the 2/5 T5 bonus will help that though.

It really helps to be hit capped and have a decent amount of crit. I am able to easily keep up with the destro locks in damage though, and have less aggro problems.
